Robert Alba Keith (November 14, 1921 – June 24, 1997), known professionally as Brian Keith, was an American film, television, and stage actor who in his six-decade career gained recognition for his work in films such as the Disney family film '' The Parent Trap'' (1961); '' Johnny Shiloh'' (1963); the comedy '' The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming'' (1966); and the adventure saga '' The Wind and the Lion'' (1975), in which he portrayed President Theodore Roosevelt. On television, two of his best-known roles were those of bachelor-uncle-turned-reluctant-parent Bill Davis in the 1960s sitcom '' Family Affair'', and a tough retired judge in the lighthearted 1980s crime drama '' Hardcastle and McCormick''. He also starred in '' The Brian Keith Show'', which aired on NBC from 1972 to 1974, where he portrayed a pediatrician who operated a free clinic on Oahu, and in the CBS comedy series '' Heartland''. Sir Brian Richard Keith (born 14 April 1944) is a former British judge of the High Court of England and Wales styled as The Honourable Mr Justice Keith. He was previously a judge of the Court of Appeal of Hong Kong. Education and early career Keith is the son of Alan Keith, the broadcaster best known for devising and presenting the long-running programme '' Your Hundred Best Tunes'' on BBC's Radio 2, who was of Russian-Jewish descent. His sister Linda Keith was a socialite of the Swinging Sixties. He was educated at University College School, Hampstead, and read law at Lincoln College, Oxford. From 1966-67, he was a John F. Kennedy Fellow at Harvard Law School. He was called to the bar at Inner Temple in 1968 and elected a bencher in 1996. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1988 and appointed a Queen's Counsel in 1989. Plastic Penny
Plastic Penny were a British 1960s pop band, formed in November 1967 before splitting up in August 1969. The group had one hit single early in 1968: "Everything I Am". Most of the members went on to greater fame with other bands or in session work. Career Most of the band's material was psychedelic pop, with leanings towards a prog rock sound. The majority of the material was written by Brian Keith, Paul Raymond, and Tony Murray. Keith left the band, and Raymond took over lead vocals. Plastic Penny's output was released on the Page One Records; the band appeared at the first Isle of Wight Festival, on 31 August 1968. "Everything I Am" reached number six in the UK Singles Chart and number 30 in Canada. The song, enhanced with a string arrangement, was a slow ballad version of a song originally recorded by the Box Tops. It was written by Spooner Oldham and Dan Penn.
