Brian W. Jones (born August 9, 1968) is an American politician serving in the California State Senate. A California Republican Party, Republican, he represents the California's 40th State Senatorial district, 40th State Senatorial district, encompassing most of inland San Diego County, California, San Diego County. He previously served in the California State Assembly, representing the California's 71st State Assembly district, 71st district, also encompassing most of inland San Diego County. Prior to being elected to the state assembly, he was a member of the Santee, California, Santee City Council. He is currently the highest ranking Republican in Californian government. Santee is a city in San Diego County, California, United States. The population was 60,037 at the 2020 census. It is a part of the East County region. The city is bisected by the San Diego River, a linear greenbelt that includes parks, trails and more than of natural habitat. History The region was the homeland of the Kumeyaay people. These original residents established the village of ''Sinyeweche'' on the banks of the San Diego River in the present-day Santee area. In 1877, George A. The California DREAM (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors) Act is a package of California state laws that allow children who were brought into the US under the age of 16 without proper visas/immigration documentation who have attended school on a regular basis and otherwise meet in-state tuition and GPA requirements to apply for student financial aid benefits. It and past similarly named legislation have been authored by California State Senator Gil Cedillo. In 2011, the California Dream Act was divided into two bills, AB130 and AB131.
