Brian Carroll (born 25 March 1941) is a former Australian rules footballer, who played 10 matches for Fitzroy in 1963. Family He is the father of current Collingwood Head of academy and former Box Hill coach and former Hawthorn assistant coach Damian Carroll. Camperdown Football Club
The Camperdown Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Magpies'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the town of Camperdown, Victoria. The club teams currently compete in the Hampden Football Netball League, which Camperdown is founding member, having joined in 1930. History The first Camperdown club was formed in 1877 but it disbanded within an few years with accumulated debts. A second attempt in 1883 is the club that continues today. The late 1880s and 1890s the club usually participated in a four team competition that a wealthy patron would donate a shield as a prize. Usually it was four clubs, Camperdown, Cobden, Mortlake and Terang. This arrangement continued until 1901. In August 1901, local soldier Trooper Lawrence was killed in action during the Boer War. Fitzroy Football Club
The Fitzroy Football Club is an Australian rules football club currently competing in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA). Formed in 1883 to represent the inner-Melbourne municipality of Fitzroy, the club was a member of the Victorian Football Association (VFA), before becoming a foundation member of the breakaway Victorian Football League (VFL/AFL) in 1897. Fitzroy won a total of eight VFL premierships, of which seven (1898, 1899, 1904, 1905, 1913, 1916 and 1922) were won whilst they were nicknamed the Maroons and one (1944) as the Gorillas. Box Hill Hawks Football Club is an Australian rules football club playing in the Victorian Football League. It has an alliance with the Hawthorn Football Club, which plays in the Australian Football League. Early Australian rules football in Box Hill – 1903 to 1935 Organised Australian rules football within the municipality of Box Hill can be traced back to the year 1903. The Hawthorn Football Club, nicknamed the Hawks, is a professional Australian rules football club based in Mulgrave, Victoria, that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club was founded in 1902 in the inner-east suburb of Hawthorn, making it the youngest Victorian-based team in the AFL. Damian Carroll
Damian Carroll (born 15 September 1972) is an Australian rules football coach who is the Head of Development and Learning at St Kilda Football Club. He was previously Collingwood Football Club's Head of Academy. He has also served as the head coach of Victorian Football League club Box Hill Hawks Football Club, Box Hill from 2011 to 2013, guiding the club to the VFL Premiership in his third season in charge, before going on to serve as an assistant coach with Hawthorn Football Club, Hawthorn. Playing career Carroll played as a midfielder for the Casey Scorpions, Springvale Football Club, accruing 233 appearances. Prior to playing for Springvale, Carroll played for the Melbourne Football Club's under 19 team and St Kilda Football Club, St Kilda's reserves team. The 1963 VFL season was the 67th season of the Victorian Football League (1897–1989), Victorian Football League (VFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Victoria. The season featured twelve clubs, ran from 20 April until 5 October, and comprised an 18-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top four clubs.
