Aleshia Brevard (December 9, 1937 – July 1, 2017) was an American author and actress of stage, screen, and television. She worked as an entertainer, actress, model, Playboy bunny, professor of theater, and author. She also underwent one of the early sex reassignment surgery procedures performed in the United States. Brevard lived her life outside of the wider transgender community, and as a result, she was not publicly identified as transgender until publishing her memoirs in her later years. Caroline Mays Brevard
Caroline Mays Brevard (1860–1920) was an educator, historian and author in Brevard County, Florida. She was a history professor at Florida State College for Women (now part of Florida State University) She was added to the List of Great Floridians in 2012. She was a member of the Florida Historical Society and the group maintains a Caroline Mays Brevard Award in her honor. Brevard was born at her aunt's residence at The Grove in Tallahassee on August 29, 1860. She was the daughter of Theodore Washington Brevard, Jr. and Mary Laura Call and the granddaughter of Florida Territorial Governor Richard Keith Call. John Brevard is an American designer, architect, developer, and investor. Brevard applies his background in architecture and multidisciplinary arts to create designs that are both visually appealing and conceptually meaningful. Inspired by the principles of sacred geometry, John Brevard's creations feature fractal patterns found in nature and organic and man-made materials, and are symbolic of the inseparable relationship of the part to the whole. Samarria Brevard (born September 22, 1993) is a goofy-footed American skateboarder and musician. Skateboarding career Growing up in Riverside, California, Brevard started skating at the age of 13, spending time with brothers and cousins who skated. In 2011, Brevard took first in the Supergirl Am Jam 2011 in Venice Beach, CA. This performance earned her a place on the Hoopla Skateboards team. Brevard Springs Childs (September 2, 1923 – June 23, 2007) was an American Old Testament scholar and Professor of Old Testament at Yale University from 1958 until 1999 (and Sterling Professor after 1992), who is considered one of the most influential biblical scholars of the 20th century. Thought Childs is particularly noted for pioneering the canonical approach, a way of interpreting the Bible that focuses on the text of the biblical canon itself as a finished product. In fact, Childs disliked the term, believing his work to represent an entirely new departure, ''replacing'' the entire historical-critical method. Childs set out his canonical approach in his ''Biblical Theology in Crisis'' (1970) and applied it in ''Introduction to the Old Testament as Scripture'' (1979). Brevard High School is a public high school in Brevard, North Carolina, one of three in the Transylvania County Schools district. In the 2022–2023 school year, it had an enrollment of 751. David "Mick" Galloway became the principal at the start of the 2023–2024 school year. Brevard Music Center is a classical music venue and festival held annually located in Brevard, North Carolina. It has been the home to their international summer institute and festival that enrolls about four hundred students, age fourteen and older, who participate in orchestra and other large ensembles, an opera program, play chamber music, study composition, and take private lessons. A faculty of sixty is drawn from orchestras, conservatories, and universities. The season runs from the last week of June through the first week of August.
