Brett Morse
Brett Morse (born 11 February 1989) is a British athlete who competes in the discus throw. Career Born in Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, He is a member of the Birchfield Harriers club and is currently coached by Andy Brittan. He was previously coached by Vésteinn Hafsteinsson. This caused controversy due to Icelandic Haffesteinson's two-year ban from competition after a failed drug test for nandralone at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Morse has a degree in sports management from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff. Morse won the gold medal at the 2010 UK Championships, becoming the first Welshman to win the discus title. He competed for Wales at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India, where he finished in sixth position. At the 2011 World Championships, held in Daegu, South Korea, he advanced to the final where he finished in 12th place. Penarth (, ) is a town and community in the Vale of Glamorgan ( cy, Bro Morgannwg), Wales, exactly south of Cardiff city centre on the west shore of the Severn Estuary at the southern end of Cardiff Bay. Vikas Gowda
Vikas Shive Gowda (born 5 July 1983) is an Indian discus thrower and shot putter. Born in Mysore, he grew up in Frederick, Maryland in the United States. His father, Shive Gowda, coached the 1988 Indian Olympic track team. Vikas Gowda is a Padma Shri awardee in 2017. He is an alumnus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the 2006 US NCAA National Champion in discus. His personal best throw is 66.28 meters which is also Indian national record in discus throw, achieved in 2012. He contested at the 2008 Beijing Olympics but failed to reach the finals after finishing 22nd in the qualifiers, with a throw of 60.69 m. In 2012 London Olympics, Vikas qualified for the finals, at the fifth place, with a throw of 65.20 m and finished eighth in the final. London Grand Prix
The London Diamond League, formerly known as the London Grand Prix and subsequently as the Anniversary Games, is an annual athletics event held in London, England. Previously one of the five IAAF Super Grand Prix events, it is now part of the Diamond League. As the London Grand Prix, until 2012 all editions were held at the National Sports Centre in Crystal Palace. The 2013 edition was renamed the ''Anniversary Games'' as it took place at the Stadium in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, exactly one year after the Olympic Games were held in the same venue and have been followed by an IPC London Grand Prix, making it a three-day event. Welsh Athletics (WA; cy, Athletau Cymru) is the governing body for the sport of athletics in Wales. It was set up as a limited company in 2007, replacing the former Athletic Association of Wales. Education Buhari was educated at two state schools in London: at ''Millbank Primary School'', a state primary school in the London Borough of the City of Westminster, and the ''London Nautical School'', a selective boys' state secondary school in the London Borough of Lambeth. Athletics At The 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's Discus Throw
The men's discus throw was a competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, United Kingdom. The event was held at the Olympic Stadium on 6–7 August. Forty-one athletes from 24 nations competed. The event was won by Robert Harting of Germany, the nation's first victory in the men's discus throw since 1996 and second overall (not counting those won by East and West Germany). Ehsan Haddadi earned Iran's first medal in the event with his silver. Gerd Kanter of Estonia became the 15th man to win multiple medals in the event, adding a bronze to his 2008 gold. Virgilijus Alekna of Lithuania narrowly missed being the second man to win four medals in the event, finishing fourth.
