Brett Goodin
Brett Goodin (born 12 May 1985) is a New Zealand rugby union player. He plays Scrum-Half for the ITM Cup franchise, Taranaki. Goodin played 75 games for Taranaki after making his debut in 2006 against Waikato. He made one Super Rugby appearance after being called into the Hurricanes in 2008. He was also called into the Chiefs in 2009 but did not take the field. Goodin has international experience as well with the New Zealand Under 19's. Early years Goodin was a member of the New Zealand U19 team which won the 2004 IRB World Championship in Durban, a side coached by Hurricanes Assistant Coach Aussie Mclean and featuring fellow Hurricanes players Hika Elliot, Willie Ripia and Jeremy Thrush. Scrum-half (rugby Union)
In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). In addition, there may be up to eight replacement players "on the bench", numbered 16–23. Players are not restricted to a single position, although they generally specialise in just one or two that suit their skills and body types. Players that play multiple positions are called "utility players". Forwards compete for the ball in scrums and Line-out (rugby union), line-outs and are generally bigger and stronger than the backs. Props push in the scrums, while the hooker tries to secure the ball for their team by "hooking" it back with their heel. The Wellington Rugby Football Union (known as the Wellington Lions for competition reasons) are a New Zealand governing body of rugby union in the New Zealand province of Wellington Region. The main stadium is Sky Stadium (formerly named Westpac Stadium) which is located in Wellington. The Ranfurly Shield, colloquially known as the Log o' Wood, is a trophy in New Zealand's domestic rugby union competition. First played for in 1904, the Shield is based on a challenge system. The holding union must defend the shield in challenge matches, which are usually played at the shield holders home venue, and if the challenger is successful in their challenge they will become the new holder of the Shield. 2011 ITM Cup
The 2011 ITM Cup season was the sixth season of New Zealand's provincial rugby union competition since it turned professional in 2006. The regular season began on July 14, when Otago hosted North Harbour. It involved the top fourteen rugby unions of New Zealand. For sponsorship reasons, the competition was known as the ITM Cup and it was the second season under the lead sponsor. The winner of the Championship, Hawke's Bay was promoted to the Premiership, the seventh placed Premiership team, Southland was relegated to the Championship. Format The ITM Cup standings were sorted by a competition points system. Four points were awarded to the winning team, a draw equaled two points, whilst a loss amounted to zero points. Toby Morland
Toby Morland (born 27 February 1983) is a New Zealand rugby union player. His position of choice is halfback. Morland currently plays for Manawatu in the Mitre 10 Cup. He made his Super rugby debut for the Highlanders in 2004 and played for them until 2008. He was selected because of his strong performance in the Air New Zealand Cup when he played for Otago. Piri Weepu
Piri Awahou Tihou Weepu (born 7 September 1983) is a retired New Zealand rugby union player. Weepu played most recently for Wairarapa Bush in the Heartland Championship. Generally Weepu played as a half-back but also played at first five-eighth on occasion. He has represented the New Zealand national side, the All Blacks, between 2004 and 2013. He first won national honours against Wales in 2004. In 2005 was called back into the All Blacks squad for the first Tri Nations test against South Africa, having missed selection for the 2005 British & Irish Lions tour.
