Brendon
Brendon is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Brendon and Countisbury, in the North Devon district, in the county of Devon, England. It is close to the border with Somerset within the Exmoor National Park, the village is southeast of Lynton and west of Minehead in the East Lyn Valley. It is located just off the A39 and is on two long distance footpaths, the Coleridge Way and the Samaritans Way South West. The Church of St Brendon is from the village and was built in 1738, possibly with building material brought from another site. In 2001 the parish had a population of 159. Brendon Dunning is a British pop/folk rock singer. He had releases on Ariola Records and Magnet Records in the mid 1970s. One of his singles, "Gimme Some", a cover version of a disco song recorded the previous year by Jimmy "Bo" Horne, hit the UK Singles Chart in 1977, peaking at number 14 in March of that year. The follow-up, a cover of ABBA ABBA ( ) were a Swedish pop group formed in Stockholm in 1972 by Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. Oladele Brendon Ayanbadejo (; born September 6, 1976) is an American former professional football player who was a linebacker and special teamer who played in the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL) for thirteen seasons. He played college football for the UCLA Bruins. He was signed by the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 1999. Brendon Hills
The Brendon Hills are a range of hills in west Somerset, England. The hills merge level into the eastern side of Exmoor and are included within the Exmoor National Park. The highest point of the range is Lype Hill at above sea level with a secondary summit several kilometres to the southeast at . Both points are marked by Ordnance Survey trig points and are located within enclosed farmland. Early versions of the name include ''Brunedun'' and ''Brundon'' reflecting an original name of ''Bruna'' or ''Brune'', meaning 'brown one'. ''Dun'' is a common Old English word for a fairly flat and extensive hill. This name is not connected with the village of Brendon in Devon, the name of which has a different origin.
