Brendan A. Burns
Brendan A. Burns (February 15, 1895 – August 27, 1989) was a career officer in the United States Army. A member of the New York National Guard, he served from 1917 to 1957 and was a veteran of World War I and World War II. He attained the rank of Major general (United States), major general as commander of the 42nd Infantry Division (United States), 42nd Infantry Division, and his awards included the Army Distinguished Service Medal, Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Military Cross (United Kingdom), and Order of Saint Stanislaus (House of Romanov), Order of St. Stanislaus (Third Class) with Swords (Russian Republic). A native of Fort Lee, New Jersey, Burns was raised and educated in northern New Jersey. He then began a career in the construction field and became a homebuilder and project superintendent. Hackensack High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in Hackensack, New Jersey, United States, operating as part of the Hackensack Public Schools. Hackensack High School serves students from the Bergen County, New Jersey communities of Hackensack, South Hackensack (80 students in 2011–12), Rochelle Park (120 students). In March 2020, the Maywood Public Schools received approval from the New Jersey Department of Education to end the relationship it had established with Hackensack in 1969 and began transitioning incoming ninth graders to Henry P. Edgewater is a borough located along the Hudson River in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. Colonel (United States)
The colonel () in the United States Army, Marine Corps, Air Force and Space Force, is the most senior field-grade military officer rank, immediately above the rank of lieutenant colonel and just below the rank of brigadier general. Colonel is equivalent to the naval rank of captain in the other uniformed services. By law, an officer previously required at least 22 years of cumulative service and a minimum of three years as a lieutenant colonel before being promoted to colonel. It sold well and remained a popular and sought after game for many years after its publication. Background In late 1917, the revolutionary Bolsheviks led by Vladimir Lenin overthrew the social-democratic Russian Provisional Government that had been formed following the abdication of Tsar Nicholas II. What followed was a chaotic multi-faction civil war in which the Bolsheviks fought for control of Russia against a loose alliance of counter-revolutionary forces known as the White Army.
