Breitenberg (Haardt)
The Breitenberg near Sankt Martin in the Rhineland-Palatinate county of Südliche Weinstraße is a hill, , and subpeak of the Kalmit, the highest mountain in the Palatinate Forest. It is part of the Haardt mountains. Geography Location The Breitenberg lies within both the Palatinate Forest-North Vosges Biosphere Reserve and the Palatinate Forest Nature Park. Its summit rises 1.3 km northwest of Sankt Martin and 3 km west-northwest (both as the crow flies) of Maikammer, whose joint territorial boundary runs over the completely wooded hill. Maikammer
Maikammer ( pfl, Maikomma) is a municipality in the Südliche Weinstraße district, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is situated on the German Wine Route, approx. 5 km south of Neustadt an der Weinstraße. Maikammer is the seat of the ''Verbandsgemeinde'' Maikammer. Geography Location Maikammer lies at elevations from 120 to 300 m at the foot of the Kalmit, the highest mountain in the Palatine Forest (673 m), in a landscape dominated by vineyards. Hüttenhohl
The Hüttenhohl is a mountain pass in the Haardt mountains in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate on the boundary of the parishes of Maikammer and Neustadt an der Weinstraße. Here, at , the ''Kalmithöhenstraße'' (''Landesstraße'' 515) branches off the ''Totenkopfstraße'' (L 514). By the fork there is a sign on a tree with the height recorded as "479 mtr". The term "pass" here does not refer to the roads that meet here because they continue to climb from the Sankt Martin valley towards the Totenkopf and Kalmit, but to the saddle between the Sankt Martin valley and the Finstertal valley. The Taubenkopf is a hill, , in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It is part of the mountain chain of the Haardt in the Palatine Forest and lies in the municipal territory of Diedesfeld in the borough of Neustadt an der Weinstraße. Geography The Taubenkopf, like the hills of Breitenberg (545.2 m), Wetterkreuzberg (400.7 m), Hüttenberg (591.2 m) and the Kanzel (531.7 m), is one of the outlying peaks on the Kalmit massif (672.6 m). The Wetterkreuzberg () is a hill in the Haardt range on the eastern edge of the Palatine Forest in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Location The Wetterkreuzberg, like the Breitenberg (545.2 m), the Taubenkopf (603.8 m) and the Kanzel (531.7 m), is one of the outlying peaks of the Kalmit massif (672.6 m). It is located in an exposed location right on the edge of the Haardt so that, despite its low elevation, it is seen from places in the Rhine Plain as a prominent peak. The Palatinate Forest Nature Park (german: Naturpark Pfälzerwald) lies in the south of Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany and borders on France. The nature park covers an area of and some 76% of its area is under the woods of the Palatinate Forest, the largest contiguous forest region in Germany. Together with parts of northern Alsace and Lorraine, it forms the Palatinate Forest-North Vosges Biosphere Reserve and has an impressive Bunter sandstone landscape.
