The Bezirk Bregenz is an administrative district (''Bezirk'') in Vorarlberg, Austria. It comprises the Bregenz Forest region, the Leiblach valley, and the Austrian part of Lake Constance. The area of the district is 863.37 km2, its population is 130,425 (2012), and the population density is 151 people per km2. The administrative centre of the district is Bregenz. Egg, Austria
Egg is a market town in the Bregenz Forest, in the western Austrian state of Vorarlberg, part of the district of Bregenz. It is the has the highest population of any community in the Bregenzerwald. In 1894, the Brauerei Egg, the only brewery left in the Bregenzerwald, was established there. Population Geography Egg has an area of 65.37 km2 (25.2 mi2). The river Bregenzerach and the Schmittenbach stream flow through the village, while the Subersach flows just north of the village into the Bregenzer Ach. Culture The Parish Church Hl. Nikolaus, first mentioned in 1275, is one of the oldest church buildings in the Bregenz Forest. The Parish Church Hl. Doren
Doren is a municipality in the district of Bregenz in the western Austrian state of Vorarlberg. Geography The municipality of Doren is located in the northwest of the Bregenz Forest. It lies about two-thirds on the south side of the Sulzbergstock, which belongs to the Molasse basin, and about one third on Sulzbergstock's north side. The community boundaries are formed by the three rivers Weißach, Bregenzer Ach, and Rotach. It also borders on five other Vorarlberg communities in the district of Bregenz (clockwise, starting in the north): Sulzberg, Krumbach, Langenegg, Alberschwende, and Langen bei Bregenz. Damüls
Damüls () is a village community and popular tourist resort in the district of Bregenz in the westernmost Austrian state of Vorarlberg. Damüls is known for its abundance of snow. In 2006, Damüls was awarded the honorary title "the snowiest village in the world". Population Geography Damüls is situated at an altitude of 1,430 m. It has an area of 20.92 km². It borders on the Bregenz Forest, the Biosphere Reserve Großes Walsertal, the Laternsertal, and all other Vorarlberg districts ( Bludenz, Feldkirch and Dornbirn). Au (; ) is a town in the Bregenz Forest in Vorarlberg (Austria). Geography The town belongs to the Bregenz Forest, is part of the district of Bregenz, and lies in the '' Upper Bregenz Forst.'' 40 percent of its 45 km2 area is covered with forest, 34.4% of the area is used as alpine pasture (''Almwirtschaft'') and for other forms of alpine agriculture. The town itself is unlike most others in the area, as it has no real center. Au is an example of a "scattered village" (German: ''Streudorf''). Andelsbuch is a municipality in the district of Bregenz in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. Population Initiatives The Werkraum Bregenzerwald is an association of craftsmen in the Bregenz Forest founded in 1999. It aims at networking and supporting craft, design and technology businesses in the area.
