Bredeshave
Bredeshave is a former manor house located at Tappernøse, Næstved Municipality Denmark. The estate was established as a farm under Bækkeskov in 1786 and granted status of a manor in 1802. Its most notable former owner is Charles August Selby. It is now owned by a foundation and operated as a social institution. All the land has been sold. History Origins Bredeshave was originally a farm under Bækkeskov. A fruit garden was constructed on the site by Otto Christopher von Munthe af Morgenstierne in 1782. The main building wasz constructed for him in 1782. It was named after his father, Bredo von Munthe af Mogenstierne, who had created a garden at the site. In 1796, Bekkeskov and Bredeshave was sold to Charles August Selbye. In 1796, he was ennobled with rank of baron. 18th century In 1802, Bredeshave was sold to Georg Johannes Røbye. Charles August Selby (24 October 1755 – 15 March 1823) was an English-Danish merchant and landowner. He built the Bækkeskov manor house at Præstø and Orupgaard on Falster. Gjeddesdal
Gjeddesdal is a manor house located in Greve Municipality, some 20 kilometres west of central Copenhagen, Denmark. The estate was created in the 1670s but the current main building was built after a fire in 1916. History 1782–1761:Vind and Benzon Gjeddesdal was created In 1672 by Holger Vind. It replaced the village of Pårup. Vind named the estate after his wife Margrethe Gjedde. She became the owner after his death in 1683. She died in 1706 and the heirs then sold it to Niels Benzon. His son Lars Benzon inherited it in 1708 but sold it to his brother Peder Benzon in 1814. Peder Benzon significantly increased the size of the estate, for instance by closing down all the farms in the village of Torslundelille. In 1730, he divided it in two by creating the name manor of Benzonsdal from almost half of the land. Næstved is a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Sjælland on the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in the south of Denmark. The municipality includes the island of Gavnø. Bækkeskov
Bakkeskov is a manor house and estate located eight kilometres north of Præstø, Denmark. The Neoclassical main building was built for Charles August Selby in 1796-98 and was listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1918. It is located on a small hilltop in a parkland setting with views of Præstø Inlet. The home farm is located a few kilometres to the southwest of the main building. Otto Christopher Von Munthe Af Morgenstierne
Otto Christopher von Munthe af Morgenstierne (6 January 1735 – 17 March 1809) was a Danish civil servant, judge and landowner. He was the owner of Bækkeskov at Præstø. Early life and education Munthe was born in Copenhagen, the son of Bredo von Munthe af Morgenstierne and Anna Dorothea Smith. He graduated in law from the University of Copenhagen in 1753. His father was ennobled by letters patent under the name Munthe af Morgenstjerne in 1755. Career Munthe af Gyldenstjerne was in 1758 employed as a secretary in Danish Chancellery. In 1758 and as deputy judge on Zealand and Møn. In 1767, he was appointed as War and Land Commissioner of Zealand, Lolland, Falster and Møn. He became a member of the Generalitets- og Kommissariatskollegiet in 178 but was dismissed in 1789, possibly due to his opposition to the abolition of the Stavnsbånd.
