Bravehearts
Bravehearts are an East Coast hip hop group from New York, New York. The group's roster originally included Jungle (born Jabari Jones, son of jazz trumpeter Olu Dara, and younger brother of hip hop star Nas), Wiz (born Mike Epps), and Horse (born E. Gray). Horse left the group in 2002, and Jungle and Wiz carried on as a duo. Wiz was in turn replaced by Nashawn, Nas's cousin. Biography Signed to Columbia Records as part of Nas's Ill Will Records imprint, Bravehearts first emerged in 1998, collaborating with Nas, Nature, and Trackmasters on "I Wanna Live," a song on the soundtrack to the Hype Williams film '' Belly''. From there, the Nas protégés moved on to the '' Nas & Ill Will Records Presents QB's Finest'' compilation album, and saw their track " Oochie Wally" go gold. Ill Will Records
Ill Will Records was an American vanity record label founded by Nasir "Nas" Jones. The label was named after Willie "Ill Will" Graham, Nas' childhood neighbor and best friend, who was shot dead on May 23, 1992, when both were teenagers. Nas founded the label in 1999 following the release of "Nastradamus" with the help of Steve Stoute who was the manager of Nas. After signing to Def Jam in 2005, Nas relaunched Ill Will by the name The Jones Experience as an imprint under Def Jam Recordings. DJ Honda
DJ Honda is a Japanese record producer and DJ best known for his 1995 self-titled eponymous debut, '' DJ Honda'' (also shortened to '' h''). Biography DJ Honda moved to Tokyo at 17 years old to play in an American influenced rock band called 'The Clique' as the vocalist and guitarist. However, the band struggled and Honda was forced to seek additional employment. He began DJing at the popular nightclubs in a small nearby city, Shizuoka where he was first introduced to hip hop music and various turntable techniques, including scratching & beat juggling. Eventually, Honda landed gigs in Tokyo's largest clubs while perfecting his turntable techniques. ''Bravehearted'' is the debut studio album by the American duo the Bravehearts. A group consisting of Nas' brother Jungle and fellow friend Wiz. Commercial performance The album, however, did not sell well due to little promotion, it only came in at number 75 in the Billboard 200 Charts and 20 in the Hip Hop/R&B Charts. Besides Nas releasing an album off his Ill Will Records, Bravehearts were the only other label members to release a record off this label. Singles The album had one single, "Quick to Back Down". The track was produced by Lil Jon and featured Nas and Lil Jon on the track. The chorus had Nas saying quick phrases in distaste for animosity towards anonymous rappers, followed by Lil Jon yelling "quick to back down!" The song was released in 2003, when the beef with Nas and Jay-Z was still brewing.
