''Brave New Hope'' is an EP by Polish singer Basia, released by Epic Records in 1990. Overview The compilation was originally released in the United States as an EP featuring seven songs (Epic CD 49K-73593). Of these, the title track is presented twice: in its original version from the album ''London Warsaw New York'' and also in a new mix (subtitled "Brave New Mix"). The other tracks include Phil Harding remixes of two other songs from ''London Warsaw New York'': " Until You Come Back to Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do)" and "Cruising for Bruising", an alternative version of "From Now On", first available on Basia's 1986 single "Run for Cover", and two non-album songs, "Masquerade" and "Come to Heaven", previously available only as B-sides on singles " Baby You're Mine" and "Cruising for Bruising", respectively. Barbara Stanisława Trzetrzelewska (Polish: , born 30 September 1954), better known as Basia, is a Polish singer-songwriter and recording artist noted for her Latin-inspired jazz-pop music. She began singing professionally in various Polish bands from the late 1960s throughout the 1970s, then relocated to the UK in 1981. She rose to fame as a singer in the British trio Matt Bianco. By 1986, Basia and her bandmate Danny White had left the group to focus on her solo career. "Until You Come Back to Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do)" is a song written by Morris Broadnax, Clarence Paul, and Stevie Wonder. The song was originally recorded by Stevie Wonder in 1967, but his version was not released as a single and did not appear on an album until 1977's anthology '' Looking Back''. The best-known version of this song is the 1973 release by Aretha Franklin, who had a million-selling top 10 hit on ''Billboard'' charts. The song reached No. 1 on the R&B chart and No. 3 on the Hot 100 chart in 1974. It became an RIAA Gold record. Morris Ervin Broadnax (February 9, 1931 – February 17, 2009), sometimes credited as Luvel Broadnax (the name of his first wife), was an American songwriter for Motown in the 1960s, most notably working with Stevie Wonder with whom, along with Clarence Paul, he co-wrote Aretha Franklin's hit " Until You Come Back to Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do)". Clarence Otto Pauling (March 19, 1928 – May 6, 1995) better known and published as Clarence Paul, was an American songwriter, record producer and singer who was best known for his career with Detroit's Motown Records. Early life and career Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States, Paul was the son of Lowman Pauling and Arsula Price. His brother was guitarist/songwriter Lowman Pauling Jr. The two brothers co-founded The "5" Royales singing group. Their father was a coal miner in Bluefield, West Virginia, where the brothers listened to country music on the town's only radio station.
