Braulio (liqueur)
Braulio is a type of amaro, a digestive herbal liquor from Alps, typical of Valtelline (Italy). It is typically served cold or at room temperature, though it is also occasionally served as an aperitif with sparkling white wine. History The original recipe dates to 1826, conceived by Francesco Peloni, a pharmacist and botanist of Bormio who studied the beneficial properties of various local herbs. Production of Braulio began in 1875. Since 1999, the amaro has been a property of Casoni Liquori S.p.A., a company based in Finale Emilia (Italy), although production continues at the Peloni family farms in Bormio. The trademark is held by Fratelli Averna S.p.A., acquired in 2014 by the Campari Group. Finale Emilia ( Finalese: ; Modenese: ) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Modena, in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about north of Bologna and about northeast of Modena. Campari () is an Italian alcoholic liqueur, considered an apéritif of the ''bitter'' variety (and not an amaro) by Italians while considered an apéritif of the amaro variety by Americans, obtained from the infusion of herbs and fruit (including chinotto and cascarilla) in alcohol and water. Stelvio Pass
The Stelvio Pass ( or ; ) is a mountain pass in northern Italy bordering Switzerland at an elevation of above sea level. It is the highest paved mountain pass in the Eastern Alps, and the second highest in the Alps, below France's Col de l'Iseran (). Bormio (, , ) is a town and ''comune'' with a population of about 4,100 located in the Province of Sondrio, Lombardy region of the Alps in northern Italy.
