Richard Brauer
Richard Dagobert Brauer (February 10, 1901 – April 17, 1977) was a German and American mathematician. He worked mainly in abstract algebra, but made important contributions to number theory. He was the founder of modular representation theory. Education and career Alfred Brauer was Richard's brother and seven years older. They were born to a Jewish family. Both were interested in science and mathematics, but Alfred was injured in combat in World War I. As a boy, Richard dreamt of becoming an inventor, and in February 1919 enrolled in Technische Hochschule Berlin-Charlottenburg. He soon transferred to University of Berlin. Except for the summer of 1920 when he studied at University of Freiburg, he studied in Berlin, being awarded his PhD on 16 March 1926. Arik Brauer
Arik Brauer (; 4 January 1929 – 24 January 2021) was an Austrian painter, printmaker, poet, dancer, singer-songwriter, stage designer, architect, and academic teacher. Brauer, from a family of Jewish emigrants, grew up in Vienna under the Nazi regime. After World War II, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna from age 16, and from 1947 also singing. He travelled extensively, and married in Israel in 1957, settling in Paris where he formed a singing duo with his wife. From 1963, they lived in Ein Hod, Israel, and in Vienna. Brauer was a co-founder of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism. Called an ''Universalkünstler'' (all-round artist) in Austria, he appeared as a singer-songwriter at the beginning of Austropop in the 1970s, taught at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna from 1985, and designed buildings in Austria and Israel in the 1990s. Erich Brauer
Erich Brauer (28 June 1895, in Berlin – 9 May 1942, in Petah Tikvah) was a German Jewish illustrator, ethnographer, and ethnologist. As an artist he chose to be known as Erich Chiram Brauer. He often signed his art work "Chiram". Early life He was born in Berlin to Fanny (Krebs) and Adolf Brauer, when it was part of the German Empire under Prussian leadership. As a young man, his first interest was in graphics, and later he added studies in ethnology. Even after he had changed his vocation, he would still decorate his letters and writings with graphic artwork and would later make a livelihood from doing graphic artwork for the Jewish National Fund. Max Brauer
Max Julius Friedrich Brauer (3 September 1887 – 2 February 1973) was a German politician of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) and the first elected First Mayor of Hamburg after World War II. Life In 1923, Brauer was mayor of the independent city of Altona, Prussia, incorporated into Hamburg after 1937. Brauer fled the Nazi regime to the United States in 1933 with a passport of a friend. Friedrich Moritz Brauer
Friedrich Moritz Brauer (12 May 1832, Vienna – 29 December 1904) was an Austrian entomologist who was Director of the Naturhistorisches Hofmuseum, Vienna, at the time of his death. He wrote many papers on Diptera and Neuroptera. From an assistant in the Entomological Museum at the University of Vienna, Brauer became Custodian of the collections in 1873 and in the following year was appointed Professor of zoology in the university. He was elected an Honorary Fellow of the Entomological Society of London in 1900. Brauer's first work on the order Neuroptera, and his first entomological publication, in 1850, was a revision of the genus ''Chrysopa''. Cole Brauer (born May 24, 1994) is an American sailor. She was the first woman from the United States to race single-handed around the world nonstop. Early life Brauer grew up on Long Island, New York, and attended East Hampton High School, graduating in 2012. She attended the University of Hawaiʻi, where she studied nutritional science and competed for the college's sailing team, later becoming the team's captain. Rich Brauer is a Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 87th district since 2003. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Brauer appeared in over 20 films between 1946 in film, 1946 and 1966 in film, 1966.
