Branford Point
The Branford Point Historic District is a historic district in Branford, Connecticut. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. It includes a significant portion of the Branford Point neighborhood, generally considered to be the area along the west side of the Branford Harbor to the Amtrak railroad tracks. It is bounded on the west by the Short Beach neighborhood, on the north by Branford Center, and on the east by the Branford River. Harbor Street, Maple Avenue, and Stannard Avenue are the main thoroughfares of the neighborhood. In the 2000 Census, Branford Point was included by the U.S. Census Bureau in the Branford Center census-designated place. The historic district is a roughly T-shaped area within the neighborhood, extending along Harbor Street from Curve Street in the north to Parker Memorial Park and the tip of the eponymous Branford Point in the south. Branford is a shoreline New England town, town located on Long Island Sound in New Haven County, Connecticut, United States, about east of downtown New Haven, Connecticut, New Haven. Short Beach
Short Beach is a beach neighborhood situated in Branford, Connecticut, United States. It is the westernmost of Branford's seven neighborhoods, the others being: The Hill, The Center, Pine Orchard, Stony Creek, Indian Neck, and Brushy Hill. Short Beach's population is approximately 2,500. Approximately one-half mile long, it is situated in New Haven County and is bordered by East Haven to the west, Branford to the north and east and Long Island Sound to the south. It is home to many small islands, the largest being Kelsey's Island which has a few small cabins used as summer homes. Short Beach was once a thriving shoreline vacation village that became almost a completely year-round neighborhood starting in the late 1950s. Branford Center
Branford Center is a neighborhood and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Branford, Connecticut, United States. The CDP encompasses the traditional town center area (roughly the area bounded by U.S. Route 1, the Amtrak railroad tracks, and the Branford River) and the area known as Branford Point (the portion of the CDP south of the railroad tracks). The population of the CDP (including Branford Point) was 5,819 at the 2010 census.
