Bramham Island
Bramham Island is an island in the Queen Charlotte Strait region of the Central Coast of British Columbia, Canada, on the north side of the entrance to that strait. It lies in the entrance to the maze of waterways inland to the northeast, focused on Seymour Inlet, which includes Belize Inlet and Allison Harbour and Nugent Sound, though it is flanked only by Slingsby Channel on its north, and Schooner Channel (formerly Schooner Passage) on its east. To its west are the open waters at the convergence of Queen Charlotte Sound and Queen Charlotte Strait. About 23 km2 in size, it is mostly low-lying hills and has a number of freshwater lakes. Bramham Island was also the name of a former post office at , though there has been no settlement there since 1923. Queen Charlotte Sound (Canada)
Queen Charlotte Sound () is a sound of the Pacific Ocean in British Columbia, Canada, between Vancouver Island in the south and Haida Gwaii in the north. It merges with Hecate Strait in the north and Queen Charlotte Strait in the south. Queen Charlotte Sound is part of the Inside Passage shipping route. It is part of the Haíɫzaqv Nation territory also known as the Heiltsuk Nation. Blunden Harbour
Blunden Harbour is a small harbour and native Indian reserve in the Canadian province of British Columbia. It is located the mainland side of Queen Charlotte Strait about northeast of Port Hardy. George Lane-Fox (4 May 1793 – 15 November 1848), of Bramham Park, Yorkshire, was a British landowner and Tory politician. Early life Lane-Fox was born on 4 May 1793. He was the eldest son of James Fox-Lane, of Bramham Park, Yorkshire, by the Hon. Mary Lucy Pitt, daughter of George Pitt, 1st Baron Rivers. Bramham Park
Bramham Park is a Grade I listed 18th-century country house in Bramham, between Leeds and Wetherby, in West Yorkshire, England. The house, constructed of magnesian limestone ashlar with stone slate roofs in a classical style, is built to a linear plan with a main range linked by colonnades to flanking pavilions. The main block is of three storeys with a raised forecourt. The house is surrounded by a landscaped park ornamented by a series of follies and avenues laid out in the 18th-century landscape tradition, surrounded by of arable farmland. Bramham Park is used annually for the Leeds Festival. History The Baroque mansion was built in 1698 for Robert Benson, 1st Baron Bingley. Captain Pender
Daniel Pender was a Royal Navy Staff Commander, later captain, who surveyed the Coast of British Columbia aboard , and from 1857 to 1870. Pender was recorded as the second master of the admiralty survey vessel, HMS ''Plumper'', in 1857 when he arrived at Esquimalt. He was promoted as the ship's master in 1860. He was, however, transferred to HMS ''Hecate'' a year later after the Plumper was deemed too small and unsuitable for the coast's waters. When the British government commissioned the Hudson Bay Company to continue the hydraulic survey of the coast, he was given command of the company's ''Beaver''. Queen Charlotte Strait
Queen Charlotte Strait is a strait between Vancouver Island and the mainland of British Columbia, Canada. It connects Queen Charlotte Sound with Johnstone Strait and Discovery Passage and via them to the Strait of Georgia and Puget Sound. It forms part of the Inside Passage from Washington to Alaska.
