Braissat is a village located in Bsharri District in the North Governorate of Lebanon. It borders Dimane and Hadath El Jebbeh. Governorates Of Lebanon
Lebanon is divided into nine governorates (''muhafazah''). Each governorate is headed by a governor (''muhafiz''): All of the governorates except for Beirut Governorate, Beirut and Akkar Governorate, Akkar are divided into districts of Lebanon, districts, which are further subdivided into list of municipalities of Lebanon, municipalities. The newest governorate is Keserwan-Jbeil, which was gazetted on 7 September 2017 but whose first governor, Pauline Deeb, was not appointed until 2020. Bsharri District
Bsharri District is one of the 7 districts ('' qadaa, قضاء'') of the North Governorate, Lebanon. Overview and geography Surrounded by mountains, the Bsharri District sits on cliffs. Dimane
Dimane (or Diman, ) is a mountainous village in the Bsharri District, in the North Governorate of Lebanon. It sits at approximately 1400m above sea level, overlooking the Kadisha Valley. The inhabitants of Dimane are Lebanese and are followers of the Maronite Catholic Church. Its patron saint is Saint Joseph and his feast day is celebrated on 19 March each year. Summer Patriarchal residence The village is well known as the summer residence of the Maronite Patriarch, currently Mar Béchara Pierre Raï. The foundation stone for the current Patriarchal residence was laid on 28 September 1899. Hadath El Jebbeh
Hadath el Jebbeh ( ar, حدث الجبة, also known as ''Hadad'', and known locally as ''Hadid'' (حَدِد)), is a town located in Bsharri District in the North Governorate of Lebanon. It was originally settled in 400 A.D., and is situated on a hill at an altitude of 1500 meters, overlooking the Kadisha valley. Hadath el Jebbeh is a summer resort and touristic place, benefiting from its welcoming and friendly local families. The inhabitants of the village are mostly Maronites, with the presence of two churches in town, the historical St. Daniel church which was built around 1110 CE, and Notre-Dame church built in 1956.
