Käpylän Pallo
Käpylän Pallo, commonly referred to as KäPa for short, is a football (soccer) club from the Käpylä district of Helsinki. The club currently plays in the Ykkösliiga, the new second tier of the Finnish league system. Their home arena is Max Westerberg Areena in Käpylän liikuntapuisto, Käpylä, Helsinki. KäPa first team currently play their home matches at the Brahenkenttä, Helsinki due to the requirements in the second-tier. Background The club played 21 seasons in the Kakkonen (Second Division), the third tier of Finnish football, in 1979, 1983–1989, 1997–2007 and 2009–2012. KäPa played one season in the Ykkönen (First Division), the second tier of Finnish football, in 2008 and one season in the Kolmonen, the fourth tier of Finnish football, in 2012. Helsinginkatu ( Swedish: ''Helsingegatan'', literally meaning "Helsinki street"; also called "Hesari" in Helsinki slang, which is also used as a nickname for ''Helsingin Sanomat'') is a two-kilometre-long east-west-running street in Helsinki, Finland. The street runs from Hämeentie to Mannerheimintie. The street separates the districts of Kallio and Alppiharju, and the part west to the railway underpass belongs to Taka-Töölö. The eastern part of the street is a 30-metre-wide avenue, with buildings on both sides. History There had been plans for an avenue on the site of the current Helsinginkatu street since 1887. At the time there was a moist ditch at the site of the street, which was used as a farming ground. In 1902 a zoning plan was made, according to which Helsinginkatu was constructed. HIFK Bandy
HIFK (Helsingfors Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna) Bandy are a bandy club from Helsinki, Finland. HIFK Bandy was founded in 1907 and it is one of the oldest bandy clubs in Finland. HIFK are also the most successful bandy club with 17 championship titles. In 1988 they were European Cup runners-up. HIFK Bandy currently plays in Bandyliiga, the premier bandy league in Finland.
