Brad Staubitz
Bradley Michael Staubitz (born July 28, 1984) is a former Canadians, Canadian ice hockey Forward (ice hockey), forward who is currently an assistant coach for the Sarnia Sting in the Ontario Hockey League. Playing career Staubitz was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and raised in Sarnia, Ontario. He played his junior career as a defenceman and was converted to the wing at the pro level. Undrafted, Staubitz signed as a free agent with the San Jose Sharks to a three-year entry-level contract on September 18, 2005. Staubitz made his National Hockey League, NHL debut for the Sharks during the 2008–09 NHL season, 2008–09 season and recorded a fighting major on his first career shift against the Anaheim Ducks on October 17, 2008. Winger (ice Hockey)
Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Wingers generally have the least defensive responsibilities out of any position on the ice, however they are still tasked with defensive duties such as forechecking duties or covering the point in the defensive zone. Nowadays, there are different types of wingers in the game — out-and-out goal scorers, checkers who disrupt the opponents, and forwards who work along the boards and in the corners. Fighting Major
A penalty in ice hockey is a punishment for an infringement of the rules. Most penalties are enforced by sending the offending player to a penalty box for a set number of minutes. During the penalty the player may not participate in play. Penalties are called and enforced by the referee, or in some cases, the linesman. The offending team may not replace the player on the ice (although there are some exceptions, such as fighting), leaving them short-handed as opposed to full strength. When the opposing team is said to be on a '' power play'', they will have one more player on the ice than the short-handed team. The short-handed team is said to be "on the penalty kill" until the penalty expires and the penalized player returns to play. While standards vary somewhat between leagues, most leagues recognize several common varieties of penalties, as well as common infractions. Jesse Blacker (born April 19, 1991) is a Canadian-Kazakh professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently under contract with Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Blacker was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second round (58th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Peter Holland (born January 14, 1991) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centreman for the Colorado Eagles of the American Hockey League (AHL). Holland was selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the first round, 15th overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, and made his NHL debut for the Ducks during the 2011–12 season. Houston Aeros (1994–2013)
The Houston Aeros were a professional ice hockey team in the International Hockey League (IHL) and the American Hockey League (AHL). The team played in Houston, Texas, at The Summit (renamed Compaq Center in 1998) from 1994 until 2003 and the Toyota Center from 2003 to 2013. Cody Bass (born January 7, 1987) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played for the Ottawa Senators, Columbus Blue Jackets and Nashville Predators in the National Hockey League (NHL). The Senators drafted Bass in the fourth round, 95th overall during the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. The 2010 NHL Entry Draft was the 48th NHL Entry Draft, held on June 25–26, 2010 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, home arena of the Los Angeles Kings. The 2009–10 NHL season was the 93rd season of operation (92nd season of play) of the National Hockey League (NHL). It ran from October 1, 2009—including four games in Europe on October 2 and 3—until April 11, 2010, with the 2010 Stanley Cup playoffs running to June 9, 2010.
