Brad Sanfilippo
Bradley Alfson Sanfilippo (born January 3, 1975) is an American college baseball coach, currently serving as head coach at San Jose State. Sanfilippo played college baseball at De Anza and UC Davis. Sanfilippo was a high school baseball coach in Los Gatos and San Jose, California before moving up to the college level as a volunteer assistant at California in 2010. From 2013 to 2014, he was an assistant coach at San Jose State, before coming back to California as assistant from 2015 to 2017. After spending the 2018 season as interim head coach at San Jose State, Sanfilippo was promoted to the job long term. Playing career A native of Los Gatos, California, Sanfilippo graduated from Los Gatos High School in 1993. An outfielder and designated hitter, Sanfilippo began his college baseball career at De Anza College before transferring to UC Davis before his sophomore year. Excite Ballpark, previously known as San Jose Municipal Stadium or Muni Stadium, is a baseball park in San Jose, California. It is the home of the Minor League Baseball San Jose Giants, an affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. The team plays in the North Division of the California League. Brewster Whitecaps
The Brewster Whitecaps are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Brewster, Massachusetts. The team is a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and plays in the league's East Division. The Whitecaps play their home games at Stony Brook Field on the campus of Stony Brook Elementary School in Brewster. The Whitecaps most recently won the CCBL championship in 2021 when they defeated the Bourne Braves two games to none to win the best of three championship series. The title was the third in team history, having won previously in 2000 and 2017. 2002 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament
The 2002 NCAA Division I baseball tournament was played at the end of the 2002 NCAA Division I baseball season to determine the national champion of college baseball. The tournament concluded with eight teams competing in the College World Series, a double-elimination tournament in its fifty sixth year. Sixteen regional competitions were held to determine the participants in the final event, with each winner advancing to a best of three series against another regional champion for the right to play in the College World Series. Mark Martinez
Mark Eastman Martinez (born December 18, 1961) is an American college baseball coach and former shortstop. He is the head baseball coach at San Diego State University. Martinez played college baseball at Mesa State College from 1982 to 1984. Martinez was previously assistant coach under Tony Gwynn at San Diego State from 2006 to 2014. Nearly two months after Gwynn's death, San Diego State promoted Martinez to head coach on August 20, 2014. Western Athletic Conference
The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) is an NCAA Division I conference. The WAC covers a broad expanse of the western United States with member institutions located in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Utah, Washington, and Texas. Due to most of the conference's football-playing members leaving the WAC for other affiliations, the conference discontinued football as a sponsored sport after the 2012–13 season and left the NCAA's Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly known as Division I-A). The 2011 NCAA Division I baseball tournament began on Friday, June 3, 2011 as part of the 2011 NCAA Division I baseball season.
