It was created prior to the 2019 election from parts of the former districts West Royalty-Springvale and York-Oyster Bed. Dennis "Denny" King (born November 1, 1971) is the 33rd and current premier of Prince Edward Island since 2019 and current leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Prince Edward Island. Early life Born in Georgetown, Prince Edward Island, King worked in many Prince Edward Island media outlets for years, including the ''Eastern Graphic'', ''The Guardian (Charlottetown), The Guardian'' and CFCY-FM. Queens County is a county in the province of Prince Edward Island, Canada. It is the largest county in the province by population with 89,770 (2021) and land. Charlottetown is the county seat of Queens County, and is the largest city and the capital of Prince Edward Island. The county is located in the centre of Prince Edward Island, and the geography varies from relatively flat plains to rolling hills in the central interior lands known as the Bonshaw Hills. The coastline features sandstone cliffs and sandy beaches, with numerous sheltered bays on the Gulf of St. Lawrence and Northumberland Strait. Charlottetown is the capital and largest city of the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island, and the county seat of Queens County. Named after Queen Charlotte, Charlottetown was an unincorporated town until it was incorporated as a city in 1855. It was the site of the famous Charlottetown Conference in 1864, the first gathering of Canadian and Maritime statesmen to discuss the proposed Maritime Union. Prince Edward Island (PEI; ) is one of the thirteen provinces and territories of Canada. It is the smallest province in terms of land area and population, but the most densely populated.
