Boxing World Cup
The Boxing World Cup is an international boxing event organized by the International Boxing Association (IBA), featuring boxers competing in different weight divisions. It was held from 1979 to 1998 as an individual competition and from 2002 to 2006 as a team competition. In 2008, the format returned to individual competition, though the team score was still accounted for. History Individual boxers were competing in their weight categories as part of the team competition, with the overall winner decided by the higher number of total wins. Each team represented countries and continents. The number of weight categories differed per Cup. Related type of competition could be considered boxing team duels, often held between countries as part of the final stage of preparation for the IBA World Boxing Championships. Amateur Boxing
Amateur boxing is the variant of boxing practiced in clubs and associations around the world, at the Olympic Games, Pan American Games and Commonwealth Games, as well as at the varsity sports, collegiate level. Amateur boxing bouts comprise three rounds of three minutes for men, and four rounds of two minutes for women, each with a one-minute interval between rounds. Men's senior bouts changed in format from four two-minute rounds to three three-minute rounds on January 1, 2009. Amateur boxing rewards point-scoring blows, based on the number of clean punches landed, rather than physical power. Also, the amateur format allows tournaments to feature several bouts over several days, unlike professional boxing, where fighters typically rest several months between bouts. Sports City Coliseum
Coliseo de la Ciudad Deportiva is an indoor arena, indoor sporting arena located in Havana, Cuba. Built in 1957, the Coliseum is one of the most important works of Cuban Civil Engineering. It is located at the intersection of Boyeros and Vía Blanca avenues in the Cerro Municipality. The capacity of the arena is for 15,000 spectators.
