Box Elder County Courthouse
The Box Elder County Courthouse is a courthouse at 1 N. Main St. in Brigham City, Utah. It was built in 1857 and expanded greatly in 1910. The 1910 addition includes Classical Revival architecture designed by local architects Andrew Funk and Carson Wells and provides the architecturally significant portion of the building. The building is significant as the only courthouse in the county and for having held all departments of the county government over the years. Brigham City, Utah
Brigham City is a city in Box Elder County, Utah, United States. The population was 17,899 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Box Elder County. It lies on the western slope of the Wellsville Mountains, a branch of the Wasatch Range at the western terminus of Box Elder Canyon. Brigham City saw most of its growth during the 1950s and 1960s but has seen a struggling economy and stagnating growth. It is near the headquarters of ATK Thiokol, the company that created the solid rocket boosters for the Space Shuttle. Brigham City is known for its peaches and holds an annual celebration called Peach Days on the weekend after Labor Day. Neoclassical architecture is an architectural style produced by the Neoclassical movement that began in the mid-18th century in Italy and France. Andrew David Funk (born September 21, 1999) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA), on a two-way contract with the Windy City Bulls of the NBA G League. Box Elder County is a county at the northwestern corner of Utah, United States. As of 2018, the estimated population is 54,950. Its county seat and largest city is Brigham City. The county was named for the box elder trees that abound in the county.
