BoxWise
BoxWise is a UK-based non-profit social enterprise helping young people make successful transitions to adult through boxing. The organisation was founded in 2020 by Nick Maughan CBE and Rick Ogden MBE. History BoxWise has 42 venues in locations including Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, East Middlesbrough, Telford as well as disability boxing centres in Manchester, Pembrokeshire, and Sheffield. The non-profit has also expanded internationally in South Africa, Uganda and Ireland. Activities BoxWise supports young people to develop essential life skills. Participants follow a free ten-week curriculum delivered by accredited England boxing coaches. Beneficiaries have the opportunity to gain a Level 1 Coaching Qualification or be involved in mentoring other young people on future courses. Nick Maughan
Nicholas Peter Collingwood Maughan (born January 1980) is a British born investor and philanthropist. Maughan is the founder of the venture investment firm Maughan Capital, the Geneva-based multi-family office Little Whale Capital, and the Nick Maughan Family Foundation, a charitable organisation supporting initiatives in education, the environment, and social inclusion. He is a trustee and founder member of The Centre for Social Justice Foundation, as well as a trustee of Tusk Trust and Dallaglio RugbyWorks. As the founder, patron, and funder, he supports various charitable projects, including BoxWise, StreetDoctors, the Charlie Miller Football Academy, and the development of social infrastructure projects in Eastern Uganda. Lawrence Okolie (born 16 December 1992) is a British professional boxer. He has held world championships in two weight classes, including the World Boxing Council (WBC) bridgerweight title in 2024, and the World Boxing Organization (WBO) cruiserweight title from 2021 to 2023. Joshua Buatsi (born 14 March 1993) is a British professional boxer. He held the World Boxing Organization (WBO) interim light-heavyweight title from 2024 to February 2025. Frank Warren (born 28 February 1952) is an English boxing manager and promoter and the founder of Queensberry Promotions. Warren was also a founder of the British boxing television channel BoxNation which ran for over 11 years from 2012. Warren has promoted and managed world champions and top ranked fighters including Naseem Hamed, Frank Bruno, Tyson Fury, Josh Warrington, Joe Calzaghe, Nigel Benn, Billy Joe Saunders, Steve Collins, Chris Eubank, Amir Khan and Ricky Hatton. Baron St John of Bletso, in the County of Bedford, is a title in the Peerage of England. It was created in 1582 for Oliver St John, 1st Baron St John of Bletso, Oliver St John. For a period, the title Baron St John was subsumed within the title Earl of Bolingbroke which was granted to the fourth Baron.
