Lakhdar Boumediene (; born April 27, 1966) is an Algerian-born citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina who was held in military custody in the United States Guantanamo Bay detention camps in Cuba beginning in January 2002. Boumediene was the lead plaintiff in '' Boumediene v. Bush'' (2008), a U.S. Supreme Court decision that Guantanamo detainees and other foreign nationals have the right to file writs of habeas corpus in U.S. federal courts. He and four other of the Algerian Six plaintiffs were released from Guantánamo on May 15, 2009, after a US Federal judge found that "the Bush administration relied on insufficient evidence to imprison them indefinitely as 'enemy combatants.'" Josef Sami Boumedienne (born 12 January 1978) is a Swedish and Finnish hockey coach/scout and former professional hockey defenceman. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the New Jersey Devils, Tampa Bay Lightning and Washington Capitals. He is currently the Assistant General Manager for the Sweden men's national ice hockey team. Playing career Boumedienne started his career playing for Huddinge IK in the Swedish Allsvenskan in the season 1995–96. Currently a fugitive, she is wanted as an accomplice of her partner, Amedy Coulibaly, who perpetrated the January 2015 Île-de-France attacks#Fontenay-aux-Roses and Montrouge shootings, Montrouge shooting and the Porte de Vincennes siege. According to Coulibaly's attorney, Boumeddiene was the more radical of the two.
