Districts Of Algeria
The provinces of Algeria are divided into 547 districts (''daïras'' / " دائرة "). The capital of a district is called a ''district seat'' ('' chef-lieu de daïra''). Each District is further divided into one or more municipalities ('' baladiyahs''). Algiers, the national capital, is the only city in the country which is divided into districts (and municipalities), and the only one which is a province itself. Orangina () is a lightly carbonated beverage made from carbonated water, 12% citrus juice (10% from concentrated Orange juice, orange, 2% from a combination of concentrated Lemon juice, lemon, concentrated mandarin orange, mandarin, and concentrated Grapefruit juice, grapefruit juices), as well as 2% orange pulp. Jean-Claude Beton
Jean-Claude Beton (January 14, 1925 – December 2, 2013) was a French businessman, agricultural engineer and entrepreneur. Born in Colonial Algeria, Beton was a key figure in the rise of the French soft drink maker Orangina, being credited with transforming the drink from a little-known citrus soda first manufactured by his father, Léon Beton, into a major global brand. Beton launched Orangina's iconic, signature 8-ounce bottle in 1951, which became a symbol of the brand. The bottle is shaped like an orange, with a glass texture designed to mimic the fruit. Boufarik Colonization Monument
The Boufarik colonization monument was a monument celebrating French colonization in Boufarik, Algeria. It was erected in 1930 and demolished in 1962. History The monument was erected in 1930 to mark the 100th anniversary of the French Invasion of Algiers in 1830. Boufarik was chosen as its site because of its location at the heart of the fertile Mitidja plain, following a narrative according to which the region prosperous agriculture demonstrated the value of the colonization project. The monument was designed by sculptors Henri Bouchard and with architect Xavier Salvador, in the Art Deco style that was dominant at the time.
