Botlog Island
Botlog Island is an island and barangay in northeastern Iloilo, Philippines. It is part of the municipality of Concepcion. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 441. Location and geography Botlog Island is east of Panay Island in the Visayan Sea. Part of the Concepcion Islands, Botlog is in between Igbon Island and Pan de Azucar Island. Botlog is a forested island and is at its highest point. Its sole barangay is Botlog. Natural disasters Typhoon Haiyan Typhoon Haiyan (locally known as ''Yolanda'') passed over Botlog Island in 2013, damaging boats and homes. Concepcion Islands
The Concepcion Islands are 17 variously inhabited and uninhabited islands in northeastern Iloilo, Philippines. The islands are politically subdivided into 11 island barangays and are part of the municipality of Concepcion. According to the 2010 census, the islands collectively have a population of 19,080, 48 percent of the total population of the municipality of Concepcion. Concepcion, officially the Municipality of Concepcion (, ), is a municipality in the province of Iloilo, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 44,633 people. It was the capital of the Comandancia de Concepcion, a unit equivalent to a sub-province headed by a Corregidor, before it was merged with the Province of Iloilo. Igbon Island
Igbon Island (variously Polopina Island or Balubadiangan Island) is an island and barangay in northeastern Iloilo, Philippines. It is part of the municipality of Concepcion. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 2,547. The island is moderately known in the Philippines for its scuba diving. Pan de Azucar, variously known as Tampisaw Island or Tambaliza (which is also the name of one of the barangays on the island), is a populated island in the Visayan Sea in the Philippines. Typhoon Haiyan (2013)
Typhoon Haiyan, known in the Philippines as Super Typhoon Yolanda, was an extremely powerful and catastrophic tropical cyclone that is among the most powerful tropical cyclones ever recorded. Upon making landfall, Haiyan devastated portions of Southeast Asia, particularly the Philippines during early November 2013.
