Botev 1912 Football Complex
Futbolen kompleks Botev 1912 ( bg, Футболен комплекс „Ботев 1912“, en, 'Botev 1912 Football Complex' ) is a football complex in the Komatevo neighbourhood of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, which is the temporary home of Botev Plovdiv and its youth academy. The first squad have been using the venue for their training and official matches since late 2013, because their official stadium, the Hristo Botev Stadium is being reconstructed. From the summer of 2014 the redevelopment is on hold, due to the lack of funding. In 2017, the football complex was leased to Maritsa Plovdiv, until their stadium was licensed for professional football matches. Plovdiv ( bg, Пловдив, ), is the second-largest city in Bulgaria, standing on the banks of the Maritsa river in the historical region of Thrace. Komatevo
Komatevo ( bg, Коматево) is a neighbourhood of the city of Plovdiv, southern Bulgaria. It has 6,500 inhabitants. Komatevo was a village up to 1969 when it was incorporated into Plovdiv together with Proslav. The neighbourhood is connected to the city center through the Komatevo highway. There are also roads to the villages of Markovo (Plovdiv Province), Markovo and Parvenets. History The first sources for the existence of Komatevo are from 1477. The settlement was formed by Christian soldiers enjoying special privileges in the Ottoman Empire. Every year for a six months period (from 1 April to 2 October) they took care of the sultan's stables near Plovdiv or participated in the convoy of the imperial army during campaigns. Profesionalen Futbolen Klub Botev, commonly referred to as Botev Plovdiv ( bg, „Ботев“ Пловдив, ) or simply Botev (within its associated city), is a Bulgarian professional football club based in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, that competes in the Bulgarian Parva Liga, the top flight of Bulgarian football. The Bulgarian Football Union ( bg, Български футболен съюз, Bǎlgarski futbolen sǎyuz; BFS) is a football association based in Bulgaria and a member of UEFA. Artificial Turf
Artificial turf is a surface of synthetic fibers made to look like natural grass. It is most often used in arenas for sports that were originally or are normally played on grass. However, it is now being used on residential lawns and commercial applications as well. The main reason is maintenanceartificial turf stands up to heavy use, such as in sports, and requires no irrigation or trimming. Domed, covered, and partially covered stadiums may require artificial turf because of the difficulty of getting grass enough sunlight to stay healthy. Maritsa ( bg, Марица) is a Bulgarian association football club based in Plovdiv, that plays in the Second League, the second level of Bulgarian football league system. It was established in 1921, after the merger of the teams Vampir and Trite Konski Sili. The club plays its home games at Maritsa Stadium, located in the city's northern district. Stadion Hristo Botev ( bg, Стадион „Христо Ботев“, en, 'Hristo Botev Stadium' ) is a football stadium currently undergoing reconstruction in the Kamenitsa neighbourhood of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. It is the home of Botev Plovdiv. Originally named ''The College'', it is still popular by this name amongst fans, as in the early 20th century the pitch was owned by Saint Augustine Catholic College. The stadium hosted the 2000 Bulgarian Cup Final. In the past it has also been used as a home ground by other football teams from the city; Lokomotiv Plovdiv played their home matches on the venue during the second half of the 1979–80 season, as well as one match in the 2003–04 season.
