Borås Arena
The Borås Arena is a football (soccer), football stadium in Borås, Sweden. It is the home ground of IF Elfsborg and Norrby IF and was opened in 2005. Borås Arena has an artificial turf pitch, GreenFields MX by GreenFields, and has a capacity of 14,500. Both clubs presently using the stadium previously had Ryavallen as their home ground. Until recently it was the only stadium in Allsvenskan built in the last 40 years. The arena is located in Knalleland and is very close to the newly built athletics hall Ryahallen. The first game at Borås Arena was IF Elfsborg vs Örgryte IS on 17 April 2005 in the top Swedish league, Allsvenskan. The game ended in a 1–0 victory for Elfsborg, Daniel Mobaeck scoring the goal. The current record attendance is 17,070 and was set 4 July 2005 in a game between IF Elfsborg and Kalmar FF which marked the return of both Anders Svensson (footballer, born 1976), Anders Svensson and Mathias Svensson. Anders Svensson (footballer, Born 1976)
Anders Gunnar Svensson (; born 17 July 1976) is a Swedish former professional footballer. He was a central midfielder, known for his passing, free kicks, and set piece-taking abilities, who usually operated in a playmaking role. He was capped 148 times for the Sweden national team, many times as a captain, before he retired from international football in 2013. He is the most capped male player for Sweden, beating Thomas Ravelli's previous record of 143 caps. As well as being named captain of Sweden on several occasions, Svensson also captained Southampton and Elfsborg. He played important roles in the 2002 and 2006 World Cups, in which he proved his leadership skills, resulting in him being named captain of that Sweden national team in 2009. Daniel Alexandersson
Daniel Alexandersson (born 3 December 1978) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder or forward. He is the younger brother of Niclas Alexandersson. Career Alexandersson started his youth career at Vessigebro BK and continued his early career at Halmstads BK, where his brother and father had played. He also played for Falkenbergs FF and Danish side Viborg FF before joining IF Elfsborg in 2005. During his tenure at IF Elsborg, he was in the starting eleven. In the 2006 Allsvenskan, he scored five goals and won the Swedish Championship gold. In 2008, Alexandersson left Elfsborg for IFK Göteborg where he played alongside his brother Niclas who retired after the 2008 season. In early 2010 Alexandersson chose to return to Falkenbergs FF. Borås Municipality
Borås Municipality () is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Borås. In 1971 the ''City of Borås'' was made a municipality (''kommun'') when the unitary type of local government unit was introduced in Sweden. Three years later many surrounding municipalities were amalgamated with Borås. In 1995 the western part was separated, creating Bollebygd Municipality.
