''Born to Be Wild'' is a rock album by Swedish-American actress and singer Ann-Margret released by Cleopatra Records on April 14, 2023. It was her first album in over a decade and she was 81 at the time of its release. The album charted at number 93 on the ''Billboard'' Top Album Sales, the first time an Ann-Margret album had charted since '' Beauty and the Beard'' in 1964. The album contains guest appearances from Joe Perry, Pete Townshend, Cliff Richard, The Oak Ridge Boys, and Pat Boone, among others. "The Great Pretender" is a popular song recorded by the Platters, with Tony Williams on lead vocals, and released as a single in November 1955. The words and music were written by Buck Ram, the Platters' manager and producer who was a successful songwriter before moving into producing and management. Steven Lee Cropper (born October 21, 1941), sometimes known as "The Colonel", is an American guitarist, songwriter and record producer. Brian Albert Gordon Auger (born 18 July 1939) is an English jazz rock and rock keyboardist who specialises in the Hammond organ. Auger has worked with Rod Stewart, Tony Williams, Jimi Hendrix, John McLaughlin, Sonny Boy Williamson, Eric Burdon, and CAB.
