Born Demon (Sahg Album)
Sahg is a three-piece Norwegian hard rock/doom metal band formed in Bergen in the summer of 2004, by key figures in the metal scene of their country: Tom Cato Visnes (King ov Hell), Einar Selvik (Kvitrafn), Olav Iversen and Thomas Tofthagen. Iversen has been the main songwriter and the only constant member of the band since its inception. Sahg features members of Audrey Horne and Manngard. History Formation (2004–2005) After years of involvement on different ends of the Norwegian rock and metal scene, four hard rock devotees teamed up under the name Sahg, an acronym for Structure Atlas of Human Genom (SAHG). The band originally consisted of King on bass, Olav Iversen on lead vocals and guitar, Thomas Tofthagen on guitar and Einar Selvik, better known as Kvitrafn, on drums. Ov Hell is a Norwegian black metal supergroup started by Shagrath and King ov Hell in 2009. The band's debut album, '' The Underworld Regime'', was released in February 2010 by Indie Recordings. History Background Ov Hell was formed by King ov Hell and Shagrath following the temporary dissolution of God Seed in July 2009, which was formed by King and Gaahl in March that year, following the conclusion of the Gorgoroth name dispute which had started in October 2007. Metal Camp
MetalDays was a heavy metal music, heavy metal music festival held annually Slovenia. It saw increased popularity every year with more media coverage, and saw bands like Megadeth, Slayer, Amon Amarth, Volbeat and Sabaton (band), Sabaton and many more play at the festival. It was also known for its sustainability and ecology initiatives and won a greener future award 5 years in a row. From 2004 till 2022, the festival was held in Sotočje, Tolmin. In 2010, the tickets were limited to 12,000, but the limit was later increased to 25,000. 2012 was the last year when the name Metalcamp was used before the name was changed to MetalDays in 2013. In 2023, the location changed to Lake Velenje, Velenje. The festival was last held in 2023 and was officially discontinued in 2024. 1349 is a Norwegian black metal band from Oslo, Norway, formed in 1997. The band's name is a reference to the year the Black Death reached Norway. Hole in the Sky was a Norwegian extreme metal festival held in Bergen that took place at the end of August each year from 2000 to 2011. The first event was held in 2000 in honor of the then recently deceased Erik "Grim" Brødreskift, ex-member of Borknagar, Gorgoroth and Immortal. Einar Selvik (born 18 November 1979), also known by his stage name Kvitrafn ("white raven"), is a Norwegian musician known for being the drummer of black metal band Gorgoroth from 2000 to 2004, and for fronting the Nordic folk project Wardruna, founded in 2002. Selvik and Wardruna earned international prominence for contributing to the soundtrack and score of the television show ''Vikings''. Selvik is a founder of By Norse, a platform to support Norse and Norse-related art, music, literature, film and culture.
