The Godfather (soundtrack)
''The Godfather'' is the soundtrack from the film of the same name, released in 1972 by Paramount Records, and in 1991 on compact disc by MCA. Unless noted, the cues were composed by Nino Rota and conducted by Carlo Savina (who was credited on the LP, but not the CD). The song "I Have but One Heart" is sung by Al Martino, who performed it in the film as character Johnny Fontane. The score was nominated for an Academy Award; however, the Academy withdrew the nomination after determining that the "Love Theme" was a rewritten version of Nino Rota's music from the 1958 film '' Fortunella''. Background and recording Coppola hired Italian composer Nino Rota to create the underscore for the film, including the main theme, " Speak Softly, Love". European Figure Skating Championships
The European Figure Skating Championships is an annual figure skating competition in which figure skaters compete for the title of European champion. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. The event is sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU) and is the sport's oldest competition. The first European Championships was held in 1891 in Hamburg, Germany and featured one segment, compulsory figures, with seven competitors, all men from Germany and Austria. Howard Shore
Howard Leslie Shore (born October 18, 1946) is a Canadian composer and conductor noted for his film scores. He has composed the scores for over 80 films, most notably the scores for ''The Lord of the Rings'' and ''The Hobbit'' film trilogies. He won three Academy Awards for his work on ''The Lord of the Rings'', with one being for the song " Into the West", an award he shared with Eurythmics lead vocalist Annie Lennox and writer/producer Fran Walsh, who wrote the lyrics. The music of ''The Lord of the Rings'' film series was composed, orchestrated, conducted and produced by Howard Shore between 2000 and 2004 to support Peter Jackson's film trilogy. It is notable in terms of length of the score, the size of the staged forces, the unusual instrumentation, the featured soloists, the multitude of musical styles and the number of recurring musical themes used. ''The Matrix Reloaded: Limited Edition (2-CD Set)'' is a score album to the 2003 film ''The Matrix Reloaded''. It was officially released on August 27, 2013. Unlike the first soundtrack, which featured songs from the film, this release includes almost the entire film's score on two discs. Owing to licensing issues, the soundtrack does not include the film versions of two cues, Free Flight and Double Trouble. Prior to the La-La Land release, a bootleg version had surfaced containing much the same material as the official release. However, despite being billed as the complete score, that album did not include a number of cues from the film, such as the extended version of the track "The Bane Transformation" and the cue directly after it, "The Bane Voyage".
