The Border Troops Academy () or Tajik Frontier Institute, officially known as the Higher Border Institute of the State Committee for National Security (), is a higher education college for training of officers for the Tajik Border Troops, located in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. It is a state institution. History The Border Troops Academy was established in , with the first 28 border officers graduating from it in 2004. Academics Graduates are commissioned as lieutenants in the border troops. As of 2016, it has trained more than 700 officers. State Committee For National Security (Tajikistan)
The State Committee for National Security (SCNS; tg, Кумитаи давлатии амнияти миллӣ, Kumitai Davlatii Amniyati Millī; russian: Государственный комитет национальной безопасности) is the principal national security and intelligence agency of Tajikistan. Its main responsibilities include internal and border security, counter-intelligence, counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics, fighting organized crime, and surveillance. The chairman of the committee and all of his deputies are appointed by and answerable to the president of Tajikistan. Tajik Border Troops
The Border Troops (), also called the Border Service, is the border security force of Tajikistan. Functioning under the State Committee for National Security as part of the Armed Forces, the border guards are trained by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, along with the Afghan Border Police. A higher education college is located in the capital, Dushanbe, the Border Troops Academy, and a Border Troops Training Centre is located south of it, in the Rudaki District. Dushanbe ( tg, Душанбе, ; ; russian: Душанбе) is the capital and largest city of Tajikistan. , Dushanbe had a population of 863,400 and that population was largely Tajik.
