Borbidge Government
The Borbidge Ministry was a The Ministry, Ministry of the Government of Queensland, led by National Party of Australia – Queensland, National Party Premier Rob Borbidge and his deputy, Liberal Party of Australia (Queensland Division), Liberal leader Joan Sheldon. It commenced on 19 February 1996 after the Goss Ministry, led by Premier Wayne Goss of the Australian Labor Party (Queensland Branch), Labor Party, resigned following the loss of the 1996 Mundingburra state by-election, Mundingburra by-election two weeks earlier. The Coalition party leaders were sworn in by the Governor of Queensland as a two-member cabinet. A week later, on 26 February 1996, they resigned so that a full ministry could be sworn in. The Borbidge Ministry was followed by the Beattie Ministry on 26 June 1998 upon the Government's defeat at the 1998 Queensland state election, 1998 election. Tony FitzGerald
Gerald Edward "Tony" Fitzgerald (born 26 November 1941) is an Australian former Australian judge, who presided over the Fitzgerald Inquiry. The report from the inquiry led to the resignation of the Premier of Queensland Joh Bjelke-Petersen, and the jailing of several ministers and a police commissioner. He was the youngest person to be appointed as a judge of the Federal Court of Australia. Early life Tony Fitzgerald was born in a cottage in Sandgate, Queensland. He attended high school at St Patrick's College, Shorncliffe and later enrolled at the University of Queensland. Initially, he pursued studies in engineering before switching to law. Marcus Hosking "Marc" Rowell (5 April 1938 – 13 April 2018) was an Australian politician. Robert Joseph Quinn (born 9 September 1947 in Murwillumbah, NSW) is an Australian Liberal Party politician in the Queensland parliament. He was leader of the Queensland Liberal Party from 2001 until being ousted on 7 August 2006 by Bruce Flegg. Quinn was a schoolteacher before entering politics.
