''Bootleg'' is the second album release by UK parody heavy metal group Bad News. It is a comedy album, apparently a bootleg of outtakes from the sessions for the group's debut album '' Bad News''. The first album features music and some arguing between the band members; this album is almost entirely arguing. Bad News (band)
Bad News are a fictional English heavy metal band created for the Channel 4 television series '' The Comic Strip Presents...''. Its members were Vim Fuego (also known as "Alan Metcalfe"), vocals and lead guitar (played by Ade Edmondson); Den Dennis, rhythm guitar (Nigel Planer); Colin Grigson, bass ( Rik Mayall); and Spider "Eight-Legs" Webb, drums ( Peter Richardson). The band continued outside the context of the TV series, with the actors (in character) eventually playing a number of live gigs as Bad News, and recording an album (1987's ''Bad News'') and a single (a cover of "Bohemian Rhapsody") that made the UK charts. Sarm Studios
Sarm Studios is an independent recording studio in London. Originally founded in east London in 1973, the studio's original location was renamed Sarm East Studios in 1982 when Jill Sinclair and Trevor Horn purchased Basing Street Studios from Island Records and renamed it Sarm West Studios. Sarm Studios original locations were eventually succeeded by the Sarm Music Village complex. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. Parody Music
Parody music, or musical parody, involves changing or copying existing (usually well known) musical ideas, and/or lyrics, or copying the particular style of a composer or performer, or even a general style of music. Adrian Edmondson
Adrian Charles Edmondson (born 24 January 1957) is an English actor, comedian, musician, writer and television presenter. He was part of the alternative comedy boom in the early 1980s and had roles in the television series '' The Young Ones'' (1982–1984) and ''Bottom'' (1991–1995), which he wrote together with his collaborator Rik Mayall. Edmondson also appeared in '' The Comic Strip Presents...'' series of films throughout the 1980s and 1990s. For one episode of this he created the spoof heavy metal band Bad News, and for another he played his nihilistic alter-ego Eddie Monsoon, an offensive South African television star. He played the lead role in the Comic Strip's 1985 feature film, ''The Supergrass''. ''Bad News'' is the debut album from United Kingdom, British parody heavy metal group Bad News (band), Bad News released in October 1987 by EMI. The album features a cover of the famous Queen (band), Queen song "Bohemian Rhapsody" and was produced by Queen's guitarist Brian May. "Bohemian Rhapsody" was released as a single along with music video created for it, written and directed by Ade Edmondson, Adrian Edmondson, who portrays Vim Fuego in the group. The video was released as a video single by Picture Music International. The Comic Strip are a group of British comedians who came to prominence in the 1980s. They are known for their television series ''The Comic Strip Presents...'', which was labelled as a pioneering example of the alternative comedy scene. The core members are Adrian Edmondson, Dawn French, Rik Mayall, Nigel Planer, Peter Richardson and Jennifer Saunders, with appearances by Keith Allen, Robbie Coltrane, Alexei Sayle and others.
