Boomi is a town in north western New South Wales, Australia. The town is in the Moree Plains Shire local government area, north west of the state capital, Sydney, on the border on the New South Wales side of the MacIntyre River. Boomi is west of the Queensland town of Goondiwindi and north of Moree in New South Wales. At the 2016 census, Boomi and the surrounding farming area had a population of approximately 200. The Boomi River, an anabranch of the Barwon River and part of the Macintyre catchment within the Murray–Darling basin, is located in the north–western slopes region of New South Wales, flowing downstream into the South Downs region of Queensland, Australia. Boomi Shire was a local government area in the North West Slopes region of New South Wales, Australia. Boomi Shire was proclaimed on 7 March 1906, one of 134 shires created after the passing of the ''Local Government (Shires) Act 1905''. The shire offices were in Moree. Towns in the shire included Boomi, Ashley, Garah and Mungindi. ''Puthiya Bhoomi'' () is a 1968 Indian Tamil-language film directed by Chanakya, starring M. G. Ramachandran and Jayalalithaa. It is a remake of the Hindi film ''Himalay Ki God Mein'' (1965). The film was released on 27 June 1968. Plot Katheeravan is a cardiologist and heart surgeon, while his father is an honest police officer. Kangeyan is a criminal whose life Katheeravan saves. When Kangeyan learns that his saviour is the son of the police officer who is out to get him, he unsuccessfully tries to kill Katheeravan.
