Bonsall Islands
The Bonsall Islands is a small coastal island cluster in the Avannaata municipality, off northwest Greenland. The islands are named after Amos Bonsall of the Second Grinnell Expedition. Geography The Bonsall Islands are a chain of islands, islets and rocks at the southern end of Peabody Bay, east of Dallas Bay. They are located off Cape Agassiz, to the SW of the McGary Islands. Kane Basin
Kane Basin (; ) is an Arctic waterway lying between Greenland and Ellesmere Island, Canada's northernmost. It links Smith Sound to Kennedy Channel and forms part of Nares Strait. It is approximately in length and at its widest. It is named after the American explorer Elisha Kent Kane, whose expedition in search of Franklin's lost expedition crossed it in 1854. Kane himself had named it "Peabody Bay," in honor of philanthropist George Peabody, the major funder of Kane's expedition. Avannaata
Avannaata (, ) is a municipality of Greenland created on 1 January 2018 from the bulk of the former Qaasuitsup municipality. It encompasses an area of 522,700 km2 and has 10,726 inhabitants. Geography In the south, Avannaata is flanked by the Qeqertalik municipality. In the southeast, it is bordered by the Sermersooq municipality; the border runs north–south ( 45° West meridian) through the center of the Greenland ice sheet (), so is free of traffic. Peabody Bay () is a large bay in northwestern Greenland. Administratively it is part of Avannaata municipality. Cape Agassiz (Greenland)
The Hollick-Kenyon Peninsula() is an ice-covered spur from the main mountain mass of the Antarctic Peninsula. It projects over in a northeasterly arc from its base between Mobiloil Inlet and Casey Inlet. Location The Hollick-Kenyon Peninsula separates the north end of the Wilkins Coast from the southeast end of the Bowman Coast of Palmer Land on the Antarctic Peninsula, beside the Weddell Sea to the north and east. It is surrounded by the Larsen Ice Shelf. Bowman Inlet is immediately to the west, and Mobiloil Inlet is further west. Casey Inlet is to the south. Inglefield Land is an unglaciated area along the northwestern coast of Greenland. It was named after English explorer Edward Augustus Inglefield.
