Bonnie Bannon
Bonnie Bannon (June 23, 1913 – February 14, 1989), born Pauline Frances Bannon, was an American actress, dancer, and model in the 1930s and 1940s. Early life and education Pauline Frances Bannon was born in Tulare County, California, the daughter of Walter Andrew Bannon and Juanita Alma Strong Bannon. Her father sold agricultural supplies. She graduated from Fresno High School in 1932; she was active in school theatrical productions. Her great-grandfather Charles P. Converse was a noted lumberman in California. Career Bannon won a screen test and a contract with Warner Bros. after entering a local beauty contest in 1933. She appeared ''Gold Diggers of 1933'' and ''Advice to the Lovelorn'' (1933) soon after, followed by ''Broadway Melody of 1936'', ''The Great Ziegfeld'' (1936), '' One in a Million'' (1936), and ''The Flying Deuces'' (1939). The Flying Deuces
''The Flying Deuces'', also known as ''Flying Aces'', is a 1939 buddy comedy film starring Laurel and Hardy, in which the duo join the French Foreign Legion. It is a partial remake of their short film '' Beau Hunks'' (1931). Plot While the boys are vacationing in Paris from working in a fish market in Des Moines, Ollie falls in love with Georgette (Jean Parker), the beautiful daughter of an innkeeper. She turns down his marriage proposal because she is married to a Foreign Legion officer named Francois (Reginald Gardiner). Heartbroken, Ollie contemplates suicide. Busby Berkeley (born Berkeley William Enos; November 29, 1895 – March 14, 1976) was an American film director and musical film, musical choreographer. Berkeley devised elaborate musical production numbers that often involved complex geometric patterns. Berkeley's works used large numbers of showgirls and props as fantasy elements in kaleidoscope, kaleidoscopic on-screen performances. Early life Berkeley was born in Los Angeles, California, to Francis Enos (who died when Busby was eight) and stage actress Gertrude Berkeley (1864–1946). Among Gertrude's friends, and a performer in Tim Frawly's Stock company run by Busby Berkeley's father, were actress Amy Busby from whom Berkeley gained the appellation "Buzz" or "Busby" and actor William Gillette, then only four years away from playing Sherlock Holmes.
