Bonastre
Bonastre is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Baix Penedès in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the west of the ''comarca'' in the Quadrell range. Bonastre became part of the Baix Penedès in the comarcal revision of 1990: previously it formed part of the Tarragonès. In 1178, Bernat de Papiol, who was lord of the place, donated it to the Monastery of St Cugat. In 1382, King Pedro IV took possession of Bonastre for the crown although the monastery continued to govern the village until the 17th Century. During the Trienio Liberal Bonastre supported the royalists. In 1822, the town was attacked by a party of militia and was left deserted as its inhabitants fled to the surrounding mountains. However, the militia were attacked by royalist troops when they left Bonastre and routed. The 19th-century parish church is dedicated to St Magdalene. Baix Penedès
Baix Penedès () is a comarca in Catalonia, Spain. The area has been settled since the times of the Iberians, with ancient ruins remaining in Banyeres at ''Can Canyís'', in the capital El Vendrell at the village of ''Guàrdies'' and in Calafell at the villages of ''Toixoneres'' and ''la Ciutadella'' ("The Citadel"). This is a list of the 42 ''comarques'' (singular ''comarca'', , ) into which Catalonia is divided. A ''Comarcas of Spain, comarca'' is a group of municipalities of Catalonia, municipalities, roughly equivalent to a county in the US or a district or council in the Local government in the UK, UK. Albinyana
Albinyana (official name in Catalan) or Albiñana is a village in the province of Tarragona and the autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. It belongs to Tarragona in the Baix Penedès region. According to data from 2009, its population was 2,275. History In the eleventh century, Viscount Guitard built his castle in Albinyana. His son Adalbert, who died during the Reconquista, bequeathed the place to the Monastery of San Cugat. In 1040, the abbot of the monastery ceded the lands to Bernat Otger on condition that he would rebuild the castle and take care of its defense. On being located in close proximity to the border and fearing Saracen attacks, the castle remained uninhabited for a long time. It belonged to the monks of Sant Cugat until the end of the lordships.
