The village of Bolingbrook is a southwest suburb of Chicago in Will and DuPage counties in the U.S. state of Illinois. Per the 2020 census, the population was 73,922. As of 2010, it is the 17th largest incorporated place in Illinois and the state's 2nd largest village. Geography Bolingbrook is at (41.698613, -88.088668), approximately 28 miles southwest of Downtown Chicago. According to the 2010 census Bolingbrook has a total area of , of which (or 99.15%) is land and (or 0.85%) is water. Bolingbrook borders the communities of Woodridge, Romeoville, Plainfield, Naperville, and Darien. Interstate 55, locally the Stevenson Expressway, runs through the southern part of the village heading northeast toward Chicago and southwest toward Plainfield and Joliet. Naperville ( ) is a city in DuPage and Will counties in the U.S. state of Illinois. It is in the Chicago metro area, west of the city. Naperville was founded in 1831 by Joseph Naper. The city was established by the banks of the DuPage river, and was originally known as Naper's Settlement. By 1832, over 100 residents lived in Naper's Settlement. In 1839, after DuPage County was split from Cook County, Naperville became the county seat, which it remained until 1868. Plainfield is a village in Will and Kendall counties, Illinois, United States. The population was 44,762 at the 2020 census. The village includes land in Will County's Plainfield and Wheatland townships, as well as Na-Au-Say and Oswego townships in Kendall County. With the growth in the Chicago suburbs in the 1990s and 2000s, the village has seen a population increase, from 4,500 in 1990 to 28,000 in 2000 to nearly 45,000 in 2016. Woodridge is a village in DuPage County, Illinois, with small portions in Will and Cook counties, and a south-western suburb of Chicago. Per the 2020 census, the population was 34,158. The village is just north of the I-55 junction with IL-53. It uses the 630 and 331 area codes. Woodridge is the home of the Home Run Inn pizzeria chain and was the home of Pabst Brewing Company from 2006 to 2011. Woodridge was incorporated on August 24, 1959, with less than 500 residents. Wheatland Township is located in Will County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 81,472 and it contained 25,075 housing units. As of 2008, Wheatland Township had over 27,000 parcels located within its boundaries. It ranked third in Will County for land parcels and the highest in EAV (Equalized Assessed Value). Darien is a city in DuPage County, Illinois, United States. Per the 2020 census, the population was 22,011. A southwestern suburb of Chicago, Darien was named after the town of Darien, Connecticut.
