Bolan Suicide Bombing
On 6 March 2023, a terrorist attack occurred in Bolan, Balochistan province, Pakistan. The attack targeted a van carrying police officers from Sibi back to Quetta, killing at least nine and injuring 13. The attacker, believed to be a suicide bomber riding a motorcycle, rammed into the police van on the Kambri bridge in the area between Sibi and Kachhi districts. A newly formed group, Tehreek Jihad Pakistan, claimed responsibility for the attack. https://www.dawn.com/news/1740852 The injured were transported to Sibi Civil Hospital. Bomb disposal squads and security personnel arrived at the site, closing the area off and beginning a search operation. The Balochistan Information Department issued a statement saying that injured officers had been transported to Quetta from Bolan via a government helicopter. Bolan District
Kachhi District or Kacchi ( bal, کچی, Sindhi: ڪڇي, ur, ), known until 2008 as Bolan District ( bal, ),( Sindhi: بولاڻ), is a district in central Balochistan, Pakistan. The Bolan area remained under one district Kacchi until 31 December 1991. The Deputy Commissioner's office started functioning on 17 May 1992, and Bolan became one of the four districts of Naseerabad Division, until the abolition of Divisions in 2000. In 2013, it was announced that the tehsil of Bhag would be split off to form part of the new Lehri District. History The Kachhi Plains are the home of the archeological site of Mehrgarh.
