Bokk Gis Gis
Bokk Gis Gis (), officially the Convergence démocratique Bokk Gis Gis, is a political party in Senegal, led by Pape Diop. It was principally made up of former members of the Senegalese Democratic Party, led by then-President Abdoulaye Wade, and won 4 seats in the 2012 parliamentary election. In 2017, the party rejoined Wade's coalition, Wattu Senegal, and Pape Diop won the party's lone seat in the 2017 parliamentary election. Takku Wallu Sénégal (TWS; ; ) is a Senegalese liberal political coalition led by former President Macky Sall. The coalition's main components are the two former ruling parties, Alliance for the Republic and the Senegalese Democratic Party, as well as Rewmi, Bokk Gis Gis, Union of Centrists of Senegal and other parties. History The Takku Wallu Sénégal Grand Coalition was founded on 25 September 2024 on the eve of the snap parliamentary election. 2024 Senegalese Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Senegal on 17 November 2024 following the early dissolution of the National Assembly (Senegal), National Assembly by president Bassirou Diomaye Faye. The decision to dissolve the Assembly came during a politically tense period, with Faye seeking a stronger mandate for his administration’s policies amid growing economic challenges and increasing public demands for reform. The Manko Wattu Sénégal coalition is a group of several political parties organised to contest the 2017 Senegalese legislative elections. The coalition was organised and principally led by the Senegalese Democratic Party (PDS) of former President Abdoulaye Wade, but also included former breakaway Bokk Gis Gis and several other smaller parties. The group won 19 seats in the election, a slight increase on the 12 won by the PDS in 2012.
