Bogbrae
Bogbrae is a hamlet in northeastern Aberdeenshire, Scotland. This location was mentioned in the geographical literature as early as 1869, observed as a locus of filling of a natural moss or bog. There is considerable evidence of vicinity habitation by early man in the area near Bogbrae. Some of these nearby human traces are evident in Catto Long Barrow,C. Michael Hogan, 2008 a massive stone structure now surrounded by agricultural fields. A hamlet is a human settlement that is smaller than a town or village. Aberdeenshire (; ) is one of the 32 Subdivisions of Scotland#council areas of Scotland, council areas of Scotland. It takes its name from the Shires of Scotland, historic county of Aberdeenshire (historic), Aberdeenshire, which had substantially different boundaries. The Aberdeenshire Council area includes all of the areas of the historic counties of Aberdeenshire and Kincardineshire except the area making up Aberdeen City Council area, as well as part of Banffshire. Catto Long Barrow
Cairn Catto is a Neolithic long cairn near the village of Longside, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Historic Environment Scotland established the site as a scheduled monument in 1973. Description Cairn Catto is located southeast of Longside, in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The site is four miles north-west of Cruden Bay, to the west of the minor road between the A952 and the A950. The existing monument measures . It consists of several mounds of pink-granite stones of great length. The southwest end of the cairn has been robbed. Royal Highland And Agricultural Society Of Scotland
The Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS) was founded in Edinburgh in 1784 as the Highland Society of Edinburgh. The society is responsible for organising the annual Royal Highland Show. History The society had its root in 1723 when the Society of Improvers of the Knowledge of Agriculture in Scotland was created in Edinburgh. This society was abandoned in 1746. A similar society under the name Highland Society of Scotland was created in 1784 with 100 members largely in reaction to the subsistence crises of 1782/3 when many of the estates in the highlands and islands of Scotland were not producing enough food to feed tenants. It received a royal charter in 1787 becoming the Royal Highland Society of Scotland, at which membership rose to 150. By the 1870s, membership grew to 4650.
