Bocanda Department
Bocanda Department is a department of N'Zi Region in Lacs District, Ivory Coast. In 2021, its population was 121,469 and its seat is the settlement of Bocanda. The sub-prefectures of the department are Bengassou, Bocanda, Kouadioblékro, and N'Zécrézessou. History Bocanda Department was created in 1998 as a second-level subdivision via a split-off from Dimbokro Department. At its creation, it was part of N'Zi-Comoé Region. In 2011, districts were introduced as new first-level subdivisions of Ivory Coast. At the same time, regions were reorganised and became second-level subdivisions and all departments were converted into third-level subdivisions. At this time, Bocanda Department became part of N'Zi Region in Lacs District. N'Zi-Comoé Region
N'Zi-Comoé Region is a defunct region of Ivory Coast. From 1997 to 2011, it was a first-level subdivision region. The region's capital was Dimbokro and its area was 19,242 km². Sub-prefectures of Ivory Coast (french: sous-préfectures de Côte d'Ivoire) are the fourth-level administrative subdivisions of the country. There are currently 510 sub-prefectures. They were created in 2011, when the administrative subdivisions of Ivory Coast were reorganised. In Ivory Coast, there are 14 first-level districts (including two autonomous districts) sub-divided into 31 regions, which are sub-divided into 108 departments (french: départements), which are further sub-divided into 510 sub-prefectures.
