Bobby Kokavec
Bobby Kokavec (born 17 May 1976) is a former professional tennis player from Canada. Biography Kokavec grew up in Tecumseh, Ontario and attended St. Anne's Catholic High School. At the age of 15 he was an Orange Bowl semi-finalist and won national junior titles in singles and doubles. A member of Canada's Sunshine Cup team in 1993, he also competed in the boys' events of Grand Slam tournaments and was a doubles quarter-finalist at the 1993 US Open, partnering Sjeng Schalken. He and Jocelyn Robichaud won the Under 18s doubles title at the 1994 Orange Bowl. As a professional tennis player he made several appearances in ATP Tour level tournaments, including the main draws of every edition of the Canadian Open from 1994 to 1999. Canadian Open (tennis)
The Canadian Open (french: Tournoi de tennis du Canada), also known as the Canada Masters, and currently branded as the National Bank Open presented by Rogers for sponsorship reasons, is an annual tennis tournament held in Ontario and Quebec. The men's competition is a Masters 1000 event on the ATP Tour, and the women's competition is a WTA 1000 tournament on the WTA Tour. The competition is played on outdoor hard courts. Prior to 2011, they were held during separate weeks in the July–August period; now the two competitions are held during the same week in August. The events alternate from year to year between the cities of Montreal and Toronto. Since 2021 in even-numbered years the men's tournament is held in Montreal, while the women's tournament is held in Toronto, and vice versa in odd-numbered years. The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men's tennis. It is run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is contested annually between teams from competing countries in a knock-out format. It is described by the organisers as the "World Cup of Tennis", and the winners are referred to as the World Champion team. The competition began in 1900 as a challenge between Great Britain and the United States. By 2016, 135 nations entered teams into the competition. The Mexico national tennis team represents Mexico in Davis Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Federación Mexicana de Tenis. The Canada men's national tennis team represents Canada in Davis Cup tennis competition since 1913. They are overseen by Tennis Canada, the governing body of tennis in Canada. The team won their first Davis Cup in 2022, beating Australia 2-0 in the final. In its first appearance in 1913 it had reached the World Group final, losing to the United States 0–3. Doug Flach (born August 10, 1970) is a former tennis player from the United States. Flach won two doubles titles during his career. The right-hander reached his highest individual ranking on the ATP Tour on March 21, 1994, when he reached World No. 108. Marco Osorio (born 1 April 1972) is a former professional tennis player from Mexico. Biography Osorio made his first appearance at ATP Tour level in 1997, at his home tournament in Mexico City. It was the only time he made the main draw of a singles event and he was beaten in first round by Alejandro Hernández. As a doubles player he won two Challenger tournaments and had his best ATP Tour performance at the 1998 Legg Mason Tennis Classic in Washington, where he teamed up with Bobby Kokavec to make the quarter-finals. He played Davis Cup for the first time in 1998, when the Mexican team went to Cali to compete against Colombia and lost 2–3.
