The following is a list of characters that first appeared in the British soap opera ''Emmerdale'' in 2003, by order of first appearance. Jean Tate Jean Tate is the daughter of Zoe Tate (Leah Bracknell) and Scott Windsor (Ben Freeman). She appeared from 2003 to 2005. Leah Bracknell
Alison Rosalind Bracknell (12 July 1964 – 15 September 2019), known professionally as Leah Bracknell, was an English actress who played the role of Zoe Tate in the ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale'' (1989–2005), for which she was nominated for the 2002 National Television Award for Most Popular Actress and won the 2006 British Soap Award for Best Exit. She was also a qualified teacher with the British School of Yoga and designed and produced a jewellery line. Early life Born in Westminster, London, Bracknell was the daughter of English television director David Ian Bracknell (1932–1987) and Chinese-Malaysian actress Li-Er Hwang. Dawn Hope (also Woods) is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale'', played by Julia Mallam. She made her first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 16 February 2003 and her last on 14 July 2006. Jamie Hope
Jamie Hope is a fictional character in "''Emmerdale''", a British soap opera broadcast on ITV, portrayed by actor Alex Carter. The character debuted on the show on 16 February 2006 and made his final appearance on 21 May 2010. Carter's departure from the series was motivated by his decision to explore new professional opportunities beyond the soap opera. Casting Carter's casting was announced in November 2005. Edna Birch is a fictional character from the British ITV (TV network), ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale'', played by Shirley Stelfox. Elvis Dingle Elvis Dingle is the cousin of Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell), who is married to Marilyn. He first appears in the village in 2002, when they leave Zak's mother Peg with Zak at ''Wishing Well Cottage'' before quickly leaving Emmerdale. Lyn Paul (born Lynda Susan Belcher; 16 February 1949) is an English pop singer and actress. She came to fame as a member of the international chart-topping pop group the New Seekers in the early 1970s. She has more recently found success and critical acclaim starring in the long-running West End musical, '' Blood Brothers''. Antony Audenshaw (born 13 January 1965) is an English actor and singer. Audenshaw appeared in the Channel 4 soap opera '' Brookside'' from 1994 to 1996). Deena Payne
Diane Margaret "Deena" Payne (born 29 August 1954) is an English actress and former singer. She is best known for playing Viv Hope in the long-running ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale''. Life and career Payne was born in Orpington, Kent. She used to tour with ex-Animals keyboard player Alan Price as a backing singer and she was a member of the novelty girl band Cats U.K., who scored a UK top 30 hit with "Luton Airport" in October 1979.
