Robert Harry Pickard (born September 3, 1952) is a former American football wide receiver who played in the National Football League for one season. He played college football at Xavier. Professional career Pickard signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent following the 1974 NFL draft The 1974 NFL draft took place at the Americana Hotel in New York City, New York, on January 29–30, 1974. Bob Pickard is a Canadian businessman known for his work in public relations. He was the former global communications director of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), where his departure became notable for his whistleblowing activity, explaining the influence of the Chinese Communist Party over the AIIB. Career Before working in public relations, Pickard served as a political aide to several Canadian federal Cabinet ministers, including Joe Clark, who later became the 16th prime minister of Canada. He was also a member of the Canadian delegation that participated in the 1992 United Nations Earth Summit. In public relations, Pickard managed the Asia-Pacific region of Burson-Marsteller, Huntsworth, and led the market entry of Edelman into Japan.
