Bob Paulson (police Commissioner)
Robert Wilfred Paulson, (born 1958) is a former Commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He retired from the RCMP at the end of June 2017. Life and career Paulson was born in Lachute, Quebec in 1958. His father was an Icelandic Canadian from Winnipeg and his mother was French Canadian. Growing up, he was a member of Cadets Canada. Paulson's older brother was a Commissioned Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy. RCAF career (1975–1984) Paulson joined the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Pilot after high school, serving from 1977 to 1984. He worked as a flight instructor and aviation administrator at CFB Moose Jaw and CFB North Bay. He left the Canadian Forces in 1984. Glengarry Highland Games
The Glengarry Highland Games consist of a series of traditional Scottish competitions held annually in Maxville, Ontario, Canada, usually held the first weekend in August. The games span two days and with an attendance of over 20,000, are the largest Highland Games outside of Scotland. The Glengarry Highland Games are primarily intended to be a showcase of traditional Scottish heavy events, Highland Dance, pipe and drum competitions. Mayerthorpe Killing Spree
The Mayerthorpe tragedy occurred on March 3, 2005, on the farm of James Roszko, approximately north of Rochfort Bridge near the town of Mayerthorpe in the Canadian province of Alberta. Roszko shot and killed four Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) constables: Anthony Gordon, Lionide "Leo" Johnston, Brock Myrol and Peter Schiemann. He then committed suicide. The attack occurred as the officers were executing a search warrant for stolen property and a marijuana-growing operation on the farm. Two individuals who were not present at the shooting, Shawn Hennessey and Dennis Cheeseman, pled guilty to manslaughter for assisting Roszko to return to his farm. Michael Plante
Michael Dollard Plante (born 6 January 1967) was a police informer within the Hells Angels East End Vancouver chapter. His story was chronicled in the best-selling 2011 book ''Hell To Pay'' by the journalist Neal Hall. Informer Plante was born in North Vancouver, the son of a teacher. He grew up in Vancouver, Revelstoke, Powell River, Chilliwack, New Westminster, and Burnaby. He graduated from Cariboo Hill secondary school in Burnaby in 1986. In 1990–1991, he studied criminology at Douglas College. He often applied to the Vancouver Police Department, but was always turned down. Plante claims to have been inspired into becoming an informer within the ranks of the Hells Angels by reading the 1996 book ''Into the Abyss'' by Yves Lavigne, which is a biography of Anthony Tait. Julian Sher is a Canadian investigative journalist, filmmaker, author and newsroom trainer based in Montreal, Quebec. He was an investigative producer for ten years then a senior producer for five years with the CBC's '' The Fifth Estate''. He has written extensively about outlaw motorcycle gangs, child abuse and the justice system.
