Robert Leon Jordan (June 28, 1934 – February 27, 2024) was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. Education and career Jordan was born in Woodlawn, Tennessee. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee in 1958 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1960. He was in private practice in Nashville, Tennessee from 1960 to 1961. He was a manager for the Frontier Refining Company in Denver, Colorado from 1962 to 1964, returning to private practice in Johnson City, Tennessee from 1964 to 1966. He was thereafter a trust officer of the First People's Bank of Johnson City until 1969, and then of First National Bank of Milton, Florida and of the Commercial National Bank of Pensacola, Florida (of which he was also a Vice President) until 1971. Robert Jordan (August 8, 1867 – April 23, 1931) was a Negro leagues First baseman for several years before the founding of the first Negro National League. In 1903, he was playing as First baseman for the Cuban X-Giants at the age of 29. There he was playing with famous players of the day, including Charlie Grant, Jap Payne, Rube Foster, and Big Bill Smith. He stayed with the X-Giants for at least three seasons before moving on. Robert Jordan (1826 - December 21, 1881) was an American sailor and recipient of the Medal of Honor who received the award for his actions in the American Civil War. Biography Jordan was born in New York, New York in 1826. He served in the Union Navy as coxswain aboard the USS ''Mount Washington'' during the American Civil War. He earned his medal in action aboard USS ''Mount Washington'' on the Nansemond River, Virginia on April 14, 1863. He received his medal on July 10, 1863. He died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on December 21, 1881, and is now buried in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where his name is spelled as "Jourdan". John Robert Furneaux Jordan ARIBA (10 April 1905 Birmingham – 14 May 1978 Burcombe, Wiltshire) was an English architect, architectural critic and novelist. He worked as an architect from 1928 to 1961, after which he became an academic, broadcaster and lecturer, writing many books on architecture.
